ERNEST JOSEPH MACISAAC--86, 172 Church St. Antigonish,
died Wednesday in Camp Hill Veteran's Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Hazel Hill, Guysborough County.
He worked at Maritime Steel and owned a trucking business.
He was in the Canadian military from 1939-1945,
serving in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by three daughters, Florence (Mrs. Jobie MacDonald), Halifax;
Mary (Mrs. William Morgan), New Jersey;
Patricia (Mrs. Ron Fournier), Ottawa; two sons,
James Kie, Halifax; Ernest Joseph Jr., Antigonish; 19 grandchildren,
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former
Margaret Josephine Sullivan; a daughter, Marcellia; six brothers,
Joseph, Henry, Robert, Daniel, Bill, Arthur;
four sisters, Mrs. Eunice Hawes, Mrs. Sadie Hawes, Mrs. Min Fitzgerald
and Mrs. Flora Ehler. The body is in
Curry Brothers Funeral Home, visiting 7-9 p.m. today
and 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral will be
Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Ninian's Cathedral, Antigonish.
Burial will be in Antigonish Cemetery.
