Miscellaneous Tapes

History of Pro Wrestling in Japan-aired 7/31/95 (1:30;EX)

In Japanese but pretty easy to follow and quite enjoyable. Has features on Freddie Blassie and The Destroyer (among others) who speak in English so that helps. And you can't fade Japanese commercials for hilarity.

A&E's The Unreal Story of Pro Wrestling (1:30;EX)

Great documentary. Every wrestling fan must own this. It's more like a history than an "expose" (not a very accurate one, however.) It has tons of great interviews and footage, and gives a great, unbiased look at pro wrestling.

Hitman Hart (1:30;EX)

More must-see stuff.Every one has heard the story, but this video has everything leading up to it. They were going to make a documentary about wrestling and use Bret Hart as a focus, but when the whole "incident" happened, they realized what they were on to and went back and re-edited it to follow that story. Either a tragic story or the greatest angle in the history of wrestling. Must have for the "screw job" but also gives a great behind-the-scenes look at wrestling.

MTV's True Life: I am a Pro Wrestler (1:30;EX)

Surprisingly good documentary about the life a pro wrestler leads. Focuses on Triple H/Chyna, Tony Atlas, and some guys at a wrestling school. Again, this is a great behind the scenes look at wrestling, especially the wrestling school.

Taz Workout Series (1:30;GD)

Three great videos produced by RF Video: Takedowns, Submissions, and Conditioning. Taz has a background in Judo, and he goes through a bunch of different holds used in Pro Wrestling and Shootfighting, showing how to use them and how they are effective. Cool tape, I have yet to watch the conditioning segment.
