Author's note: While the other three stories were more of a prologue, these next stories aren't. Once again, all parents might want to read these over. There is no swearing, though.
Story 4: Allies
Intelly had a candle and he gave it to Peace. Peace held one hand on the candle and the other in Hope's. They walked on through the dark cave. Behind Peace was Love and then the other children. Intelly was last.
"Peace, how can we hope to win? You said yourself there were a lot of them! Isn't this a lost cause?" Love whispered, not wanting to scare anyone.
"If we learn how to fight, we might have a chance," Peace said.
"Where are these metal weopons you we're telling us about?" He asked.
"Just up ahead," she whispered back to him. He nodded and kept walking. They finally walked into a large area.
"Is this it?" Asked Hope.
"Yes," answered Peace. She ruffled her sister's hair and helped everyone through. Everyone walked over and picked up a sword.Peace searched through her pouch and found the scrolls. She grinned and pulled them out.
"Metals 'round this place and so, can be made to defeat your fo. Rocks will clash and metals will take shape, aided by a silver cape."
She stopped for a moment to think. Then she snapped her fingers. "Can anyone here sew?"
"No," everyone said and Peace looked upset.
"I can," said a meek voice.
"Who are you?" Kahless asked as he walked over to her.
"My name is Mouse. I'm the daughter of Bunny," she answered. Intelly looked surprised and then he grinned.
"Bunny never told be she had a daughter," Intelly mentioned. He had taken care of the eldery female norn for quite some time now.
"That's because I was exported. The hand brought me back before it vanished," Mouse said. She was still very young and not too smart, but the others needed her help. They figured out the other clue easily, thanks to Mouse. Soon a silver cape was created.
"Love, why don't you where it?" Peace asked. Everyone knew Love was a good fighter and if anyone should where it, Love should. Love accepted it.
"If only we had more norns," Peace said. It was a lost cause without more allies. Hope cocked her head and understood. She crawled out the door without anyone noticing.
"Where is Hope?" Peace asked, finally. The other shrugged and then jumped up. They all began to look for her.
Meanwhile, Hope thought she knew where she could find help. She crawled over until she got to the submarine. She crawled in and left for the island. She knew that the others may not like the help she brought back, but she had to find some.
"Well, what have we here?" Asked a grendel. He sniffed the air and glanced at her.
"What is it," a female asked as she came out of hiding.
"A norn, no a grendel. It's a mix," he said and the other turned to him.
"A grenorn?" She asked with wonder and he nodded. Hope didn't like this much. They were curious and maybe ruthless. The female saw the fear in Hope's eyes and walked over. "Hey, we won't hurt you. How did you get all the way out here?"
"Yes, we'll take care of you. Bring her back to town. She can live with us. Maybe one of her parents are here," the male said. The female nodded.
"My name is Groya, and this is my mate, Groke," the female said and smiled at Hope. "Do you have a name?"
"Yes," Hope said. It was so slured you could barely understand.
"What is it?" Groke asked.
"Hope," she answered.
"Hope? That is a norn's name! Here you will be called..." Groke started and Groya stopped him.
"She is half norn. Her mother or father from her norn's side must be worried sick!" Groya mentioned.
"Where are your parents, Hope?" Asked Groke saying the name forcefully. He often listened to his wife's council for she was wise, but he still disliked the name.
"Dead. Peace take care of me!" Hope answered. Groya looked curiously at Hope and stopped to think.
"Do you know where she is?" She asked and Hope shook her head no. Groya sighed. They had to get this grenorn back to her guardian.
"I'll go look for the norns," Groke said thoughtfully, but Hope stopped them.
"No! Norns need all grendels help! Need defeat bad people together! Not apart!" Hope screeched. The two grendels stopped and nodded.
"We will talk to the other grendals later," they tried.
"Now!" Hope said stubbornly and the two others shrugged.
"She is not going to give up until we agree," he sighed and she nodded.
"Alright, we'll go now. No guarantees that they will listen, Hope," Groya said and Hope nodded.
"Let's go," Groke muttered and they went to the center of the islands. Groya was about to start, when Hope stopped her.
"I do it!" She said and grinned sweetly. "Grendels! We need your help! The norns have a plan to stop the evil in world, but norns need your help!"
"What do they want us to do?" Asked a grendal.
"Form friendship and stop the evil together!" Hope yelled. She may have been small, but she had a loud voice.
"Grendals and norns can't get along!" Another grendal yelled and Hope turned to him.
"My parents could! I living proof!" She cried. She wished her speech was better. Miraculously, she started to understand the rest of the language better.
"How can we be use you are telling the truth?" Another grendal asked. Hope turned to him and smiled.
"I can give you my word only," she said and the grendels started to talk slowly to each other.
"We accept your word as proof. When do we leave?" Groke asked and Hope turned to them.
"Right away. The sooner we get there the better," Hope said and the grendels cheered.
Meanwhile Peace was searching frantically for the little norn when she saw a lot of grendels coming. With them, was Hope.
"Hope?" She asked. Hope saw and heard her. She ran towards her sister.
"Peace!" She screeched. Peace caught her and gave her a hug. Then she thought about the grendels.
"What are you doing here?" She asked. Her voice began to shake.
"We have come to help," Groya said and the others nodded. Peace nodded and then realized where they were.
"Quickly! We must got underground!" She said to them and the grendels nodded. They all raced to where the other norns lay. The norns backed away at first, but then realized the grendels were there to help.
"Peace?" Love asked as if she had all of the answers.
"Hope got them for us," Peace answered quickly. The norns and grendels still had no trust in their eyes, but one little grenorn had faith. That was all she needed, that was what they all needed.
"What are we going to do now?" Asked a grendel.
"We are going to fight!" Peace said and pulled out a scroll, ready to begin.
