Story 1: The Discovery

Littleone and her children played happily. Her daughter, Peace, ran off and gave a toy to her friend, Comfort. Comfort limped over and took it from her. Littleone watched quietly as she played with with her little son, Kemo. Kemo saw someone and went running to another norn. "Love!"

"Kemo!" Screamed the other male. A young norn that looked nothing like Kemo. Behind him was him mother, Sweetheart. The two friends were as close as sisters and often played together.

"I thought you were giving Jeannie a proper funeral," Littleone said. She looked at her daughter and remember how the grenorn saved her child's life. Peace was only alive because of her.

"I did the best I could. I'm sorry I couldn't save her," Sweetheart said. The norn hated grendals and grenorns, but Jeannie was the norns' baby-sitter. The hand, Mommy, had gotten there too late to save Jeannie. Sweetheart made sure the other grenorn payed by not allowing her to see another day.

"It could have been worse. At least she died for a purpose," Intelly said as he walked up. Jeannie and Jackie, they were almost twins. Jeannie was good, not at all bad. Jackie was made up of pure evil. Peace was still an infant and didn't understand what had happened. She did know her baby-sitter wasn't coming back though.

"Intelly! How are you?" Littleone asked and grinned. The poor thing was stuck in a child's body, but his intelligence was growing.

"Well enough, dear girl. I came because of the sorrow of our comrade. I heard the dreadful news," he said and looked at their blank faces. He sighed. "I came because of Jeannie."

"Ok. I took care of her. How's Bunny doing?" Sweetheart said to him. Intelly, although young, had befriended the old norn. Bunny was old and she was excitable too.

"She'll be fine," he answered. They heard so noise and went running. The ground began to shake. The two mothers called for their children. They all came running, except for Comfort and Peace. Comfort wasn't going to make it without help. The two of them were near the submarine. The hand coaxed them into there and took them to the island.

The two of them got off scared and angry. Where were their parents at a time like this? Who was trying to hurt them? The ground started to shake again and the two norns ran for one of the lifts. They got on and went down. When they landed, the lift broke. They were stuck on one side of the island.

Littleone knew that the children were trapped and ran for one of the highlifts. She got in and started towards the island. She was trying to stay calm, but heights were not her specialty. She saw the cable begin to brake and almost screamed. She was almost there, but the cable wouldn't hold out.

"Grab my hand!" Came a deep voice. On the otherside was a grendal. "Come on!"

"Ok!" She said and reached for his hand. She couldn't reach it unless she jumped. She had to put all of her faith into a grendal she didn't even know. She took a deep breath and jumped. The lift crashed to the ground.

"I have you!" His voice bellowed. It made the norn tremble.

"Please, help me up!" Littleone begged. Without saying a single word, the grendal helped her up. "Thank you!"

"My pleasure. I am Jean. I was a friend of Jeannie," he said and smiled at her. "I believe you lost something."

"Peace! Comfort! Are you two okay?" She asked with worry on her face. The two norns nodded and walked towards. "Thank you, Jean. You have save my life and the children's. How can I ever thank you?"

"I think I saw someone odd back there. Not norn, nor grendal. We can take the children back through a certain tunnel. Follow me," he said. Littleone shrugged and followed him. They got themselves and the children onto the moving ramp and headed back. The ground began to shake again and the tunnel was starting to collapse. The creatures were screaming. The hand saw what was happening and tried to stop the rocks.

"We made it!" Said Peace happily and the others laughed. One of the lifts were broken and the other looked like it might break.

"Peace, you and Comfort go home. If we don't come up after you keep going," Littleone commanded. The children got on and started up. Littleone watched in worry as they went up. Her heart was pounding against her chest. They had jump gotten off the lift when it broke. Littleone and Jean jumped out of the way.

"Well, since we are trapped down here, I say we see what is going on," Jean said. Littleone nodded. The earthquake had made some new tunnels. Jean walked down the tunnels first, but it was dark. The sun had given some light, though thanks to cracks in the wall.

"Do you see anything?" Littleone asked. Jean nodded and Littleone came up behind him. She gasped at the sight. There were over one thousand eggs in front of them. They looked like norns eggs. "What are they?"

"Norn eggs. They're norn eggs. Look at that, though!" He hissed as a machine picked up the eggs and changed their look. They were evil now. A norn hatched out. It's eyes looked possessed. Littleone almost screamed, but Jean covered her mouth.

"Are you trying to get us killed?" He asked. She shoke her head and he lead her out. "We are in big trouble. There is no way we can win against an army of super norns unless we have a plan!"

"Do you have one?" Littleone asked.

"Yes, but we will need the help of every norn child. You and the others must agree to this," Jean said.

"What do you have in mind?" She asked and he looked slowly at her.

"I'll tell you later," came his answer.

"Curse you, Jean! Tell me! If I am even going to consider this action, tell me the idea!" Littleone snapped.

"Quiet! Do you want them to know we are..." Jean started.

"Don't start that up again!" She growled.

"Listen to me, Littleone! We don't stand a chance unless you learn to trust me!" He said angrily.

"Why should I?" She asked.

"Because I saved your life. The least you can do is wait!" He snapped.

"Fine! I'll wait here and pray for my life, while you go off and try to be a hero!" She yelled and he turned around.

"You think you know everything, don't you?! Well, I do know this: We are in a lot of trouble!" He yelled and Littleone was silent.

"What is it?" She asked softly. She turned to look at him.

"My dear, there is something you need to know," he said and she looked at him.

"Yes?" She asked.

"With or without my idea..." he started.

"Yes?" She asked a little more impatiently. He closed his eyes to hide the pain.

"War, Littleone, we are going to war," Jean said.
