This story is not true, but the characters are. I made the characters speak in regular English, even though they can't do this in real life.
Li'l Tree walked to the lift and pressed the button. She waited for the lift to come down and then got on. Almost humming to herself, she waited until she got to the bottom. She played with her long, green ears as she went down. She jumped off and looked around. "Joe, are you there?" The little norn asked.
"Li'l Tree," came a gruff voice. A grendal stepped out of the shadows. He was much larger than her, and his voice was twice as deep. The green and gray norn ran up to his and kissed his cheek.
"Are you argry about something?" She asked and the grendal shook his head no. He looked at her for a second and sighed.
"What is it?" He asked, gruffingly. Li'l Tree gave his a curious look and then answered.
"There is an egg," was her response. Joe sat up and his eyes gleamed. That was four if it was hers.
"Is it yours?" He asked and she nodded. A few seconds later, he was in the lift. "Are you coming?"
"Yes!" Was the norn's response. Joe sat in front of the incubator and sighed. He really wished that this baby would come out soon. Bushes, Fire, and Petals were her others. Finally, it came out. Another girl that looked exactly like her mother. They named her Leaves. Like most of the males in Albia, her father took no interest in her. Joe, however, did.
"Baby," he muttered and gave the little one a kiss. Leaves' father saw this and kicked Joe.
"Joe is a grendal. Leaves, you are not to look or talk to him," the father, Sea, said to his daughter and began to walk away from her.
"I'm sad," the grendal cried and Leaves gave him a tomato. Joe smiled and gave her the ball.
"Are you happy now?" She asked and he nodded. Li'l Tree walked over to them.
"I'm hungry. Do you want to get something to eat with me?" She asked and Joe nodded happily. The went down below where Joe lived and they sat down.
"I'm going on a trip. I want to explore Albia," Joe said. Li'l Tree swelled up with tears. She knew that he might not come back afterward.
"Why?" She asked.
"Sea hates me. If your husband hates me, then the kids can't play with me. He even took Leaves away from me. I'm not a norn, I'm a grendal," Joe said and a tear ran down his face.
"You're not coming back?" Li'l Tree asked and Joe shook him head. "Joe, you are my best friend and the children love you. You have to come back."
"Good-bye, Li'l Tree," he said.
"Good-bye, Joe," she answered. The moment he left, she burst into tears. She traveled back up to her children.
"Mom, where is Joe?" Bushes asked. The girl had just become an adolescent.
"Joe went on a trip," Li'l Tree answered. Bushed understood and didn't ask anything else.
Meanwhile, Joe had left. He kept exploring until he found an unusal sight. A creature he had never seen before.
"Hello. My name is Joe," Joe said to the creature.
"Em. You're not from around here, are you? What are you, half norn?" Em asked.
"No! I have lived with norns all my life, though," Joe answered.
"You are a grendal. Why were you playing with...norns," another voice came up. Em screeched and ran. The new voice jumped in front of him. "Going somewhere?"
"Who? Me? No!" Em cried.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I am YOU! That is the name that the hand gave me. It must have given you the name Joe," the new voice was that of a grendal.
"What do you want?" Joe asked.
"Just your help. I want to take over Albia, but I need you help in killing the norns," YOU said.
"What?! No! I would never help you!" Joe said. He was a humane grendal and would not even kill Sea.
"They kicked you out. Why do you care? We will help the other grendals hatch. Albia will be ours. Do you want the incubator room? It's yours. Just help me!" YOU yelled.
"Joe, is that you?" Asked Li'l Tree. She had come to bring him home. YOU pressed the button and sent Joe up as Li'l Tree came down. "You are not Joe!"
"A norn girl. Well, well," YOU said.
"Li'l Tree! Run for it!" Joe said and Li'l Tree listened. She ran away from YOU, but he jumped in front of her.
"Leave me alone!" She yelled and kicked him, hard. She ran past him and jumped on a lift. She got up to the next floor and got off. She sent the lift up. She ran and caught up to Joe.
"Let's go!" Joe yelled and they went up to the next room. Unfortuately, YOU got there first.
"Well, that was fun," the insane grendal said. Joe kicked him and YOU clenched his teeth. The two friends backed up. YOU charged at them and they push the lift up. He missed them and fell down. Since he didn't know how to get to the incubator room, YOU couldn't follow them. Em began to kick him and scared him off. He felt tickling and saw the hand.
"Good Em," it said and went to check on the others.
"Why did you come and look for me?" Joe asked.
"I missed you. You are my best friend," she answered.
"And you are mine too. I'm sorry I left," Joe said.
"You are a part of our community," she said and the two started on their long journey home.
