A few days have passed since the tragedy in Colorado and gives us a chance to reflect on how precious life is. I live in the USA and so it is close to home to me.
There is not much that can be said at a moment like this but to offer prayer even if one is not religious to the families of the dead students. One thing that can be learned from the tragedy so that it is not in vain is that we can learn to look from the signs of kids going "astray" and catch it before it reaches this level. One thing that usally happens in a situation like this is that it makes us know to love our loved ones even more and let them know it everyday and cherish each day more as life is precious and it's important to spread the love. SAY NO to hate, violence, and beware when you kill in vr, that you understand that it can lead to similar behaviour in RL.I'm not a preacher but as the net offers us much ways of "play" there is also the element of young kids not understanding and that's when we have to step in and say."hey, have you been on that killing game too long?" as parents or friends.
There is a wonderful gesture started by Active Worlds I believe it was started by P3DC with the offer of her land and then the rest of AW came out and left memorials. The site is at 9800n 9767w Alpha World and if you get a chance come and pay your respects or leave a memorial or here are the pictures that speak the words
