Discography… Lenny’s debut album was released in 1989 by Virgin Record… “Let Love Rule.” This was after Lenny was married to Lisa Bonet and has his daughter Zoe. “Let Love Rule” was followed up by “Mama Said” which was released in 1991. The album was said to be mostly about Lenny’s marriage and the turbulence that had come about with Lisa. Mostly from the constant touring and everything that comes along with it. The next album was “Are You Gonna Go My Way?” which was released in 1993 and was focused more on Rock rather than funk as his two past albums had been. Then came “Circus” which was described as “weird” by many and torn up by from the critics. The album made powerful statements that were bottled up inside of Lenny such as “Rock Is Dead.” Then came the infamous, 5. This album is mostly about life experience and opinions on experiences he has been through. Such as, tribute to his mother (Thinking of You), a present to his daughter for her ninth birthday (Little Girl’s Eye’s), Lenny states “I love being in ‘Daddy Mode,’” Inspiration from recent news stories (Black Velveteen) and his thought on interracial couples (You’re My Flavor & It’s You’re Life.)
