CHAPTER 1
Beeeeeppppp!!!!! Talene's alarm goes off at 6 am. "Oh man not another day of school, moday morning to friday afternoon I have to deal with school and homework." Talene gets up, brushes her teeth and gets ready for school.
At school Talene bumps into her best friend Justin. He is the nicest guy in school but not too popular. He and Talene have known each oher since they were babies and are inseparable.
Talene says her HI's to Justin and they head to their first period class. "Hey Talene what was the homework for history, Justin asked. "It was to read chapter 10, I said. Justin asked me if I wanted to go to the movies on Saturday even though it was only Monday and of course I said "YES" because we always hang out together. When class was over we went to our locker on the first floor of the main building and we saw Lance there. He is the school's though guy and always acting like he was beter than everyone else. All the girls loved him and all the guys wanted to be him. And as much as Justin denied it he knew he wanted to be just as popular as Lansten as some people referred to him as. Anyway after school I went over to Justin's and we just hung out and did our homework. A mutual friend of ours, kari, called from California and said she was flying down with her best friend JC to Florida to see us. I was so excited cuz even though Justin is a great friend sometimes its nice to have a girl to talk to.
At the airport Justin and I went to baggage claim to wait for Kari and JC. Their flight was due in at 2 pm and it was 2:05 so we expected them anytime now. After a few more minutes we spotted them. "Kariiiii over here!!!", I yelled out. "Talene HI," Kari said. Justin and JC hugged as well cuz they're friends and we all went back to Justins. Kari was staying with me for 2 weeks and JC with Justin. Unfortunately Justin and I still had to go to school so kari and JC had nothing to do but hang out with each other all day long till we got home. Finally, when Saturday came around Justin and I were still planning on going to the movies and of course we invited Kari and JC along as well. At the movies we saw Joey, he is the biggest flirt in school and I have always had a crush on him. I told Kari to check him out and tell me what she thought of him. "Oh my gosh he is a cutie but he seems like a player," kari said, which I totally agree with but I figured maybe he just hasn't found the right girl yet and kari told me if I really liked him that I should talk to him so I decided to go up to him. So I went by him and asked if he wanted to sit with us in the theater. "excuse me joey," i said and he looked at me blankly like he has never seen me before even though we have 5 classes together. But then he ended up knowing me, "oh hey..... Talene, right?" , Joey said. "Ya im talene, do you wanna hang with me and my friends, we're gonna go see a movie." Joey said sure so we all went in. In the theater he sat next to me so i was really nervous and by half way through the movie he held my hand. At that point I was shaking like crazy. Justin was being really a pain and he kept giving joey these looks like "dont touch my friend" and kari noticed it. Well after the movie was over we all went out to eat. I sat with Joey in our own booth at this cool hang out that everyone at school goes too called O-Town Treats. Kari, JC, and Justin were sitting together staring at us. I noticed Justin seemed really upset now but I didnt know why so I decided to go talk to him so I excused myself from joey and went over to JuJu which I call him as a nickname. I asked him what was up and he said "nothing, but why are you all over joey like he is the coolest guy in this world." I got really mad cuz Justin didnt even know Joey and he shouldn't have said that. I went back and told Joey that we should get going and we left the other guys.
Still at O-Town Treats Kari and the guys were talking and Kari asked Justin what was really up with him when Talene was there and Justin kept claiming that nothing was wrong but kari sensed a bit of jealousy in him. Kari put 2 and 2 together and figured out that he was starting to fall in love with his best friend. Kari was in complete shock and JC couldn't believe it either because they have been friends for so long and something like this might shake up their friendship.
