11     Howard B. Jickling (1873-1957)

Howard, the last of Robert and Julia's children, was born on 20 Oct 1873. Julia was 42 years old at the time. In 1890 he was a student at the Business College in Kalamazoo. He married Belle E. Landon (1874-1941) on 3 Apr 1895.

Their only child, Pauline, was born in 1902. From 1902 to 1908 they lived in Kalamazoo at 1304 East Avenue with Bert and Hattie Jickling, while Howard worked for the Better Shirt Co. In 1908 they moved to Detroit where he sold Shakespeare fishing tackle throughout Michigan and Wisconsin. He also worked as an agent for a furniture manufacturer. Belle died on 30 Aug 1941. Howard died on 8 Feb 1957 and was buried at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery near Detroit. His obituary is included in Annex 8.

11-1     Pauline Isabelle Jickling (1902-1994)

Pauline [Polly] Jickling was born in Kalamazoo on 13 Jul 1902 to Howard and Belle Jickling. She married Talmon Augustus Davenport, Jr. (1902-1986) in Detroit in Dec 1923. They lived in Grosse Pointe, MI. They had two children: Claire and Bruce.
