Here's a rundown of recent McLachlan trivia:
January 2000: It's announced that McLachlan is to be appointed an officer of the Order Of Canada.
November 1999: In a suit that began a year earlier, a B.C. court rejects producer Daryl Neudorf's claim that he wasn't properly compensated for his work on McLachlan's debut album, Touch. Neudorf has since appealed the decision.
June 1999: McLachlan and Lilith Fair draw the ire of Christian fundamentalist Jerry Falwell, who says the tour is named for a "demon." Lilith is a character from ancient Hebrew mythology who is said to have been the first wife of Adam. She left Eden after refusing to pledge subservience to Man.
June 1999: McLachlan releases live album Mirrorball.
February-March 1999: She's nominated for three Junos and a Grammy for best female pop vocal (for her song Adia).

September 1998: Lilith Fair makes its European debut at London's Royal Albert Hall.
September 1998: The singer shows up in an unlikely publication -- Ken Starr's infamous report into the affair between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. In a letter to Clinton, Lewinsky reportedly wrote about how she and the U.S. president shared a liking for McLachlan's CD, Surfacing.
February-March 1998: McLachlan nets two Grammys: A best female pop vocal trophy for her song Building A Mystery, and one for best pop instrumental on Last Dance. Surfacing, nominated for best pop album, loses out to James Taylor's Hourglass. A few weeks later, the singer sweeps all four Juno categories she's nominated in, including single of the year and best album.

Feb. 1998: She's quoted as saying that awards are "not how I measure my success." She later claims her comments were taken out of context.
July 1997: Sixth album Surfacing is released July 15. It goes on to diamond status -- over 1 million copies sold -- in Canada, and seven-times platinum (7 million) in the U.S.; Lilith Fair makes its debut in George, Wash. on July 7. Its first Toronto date is Aug. 15.
Feb. 1997: McLachlan marries drummer Ashwin Sood in Jamaica.
July 1996: An embryonic version of Lilith plays four North American dates, including one in Vancouver. Other artists include Patti Smith, Emmylou Harris, Paula Cole, Aimee Mann, Lisa Loeb and Michelle McAdorey.
