bbc press founder Benjamin Bowen announces the launch of the Bowen Family Newsletter.

"I was sitting around one day and was thinking, gee wouldn't it be nice to have a newsletter...
So I made one !!!!." said Benjamin Bowen founder of the Bowen family web. "We have heard from Bowen family members from around the world and have connected with newly found cousins through the Bowen family web page which deals mainly with the genealogy and history of our family line, this newsletter would be a great way for opening lines of communication and keeping Bowen family members and relatives in touch with each other concerning recent or upcoming events." Bowen continued,
"We all know of the Independent spirit that runs through the Bowen line, this will be a great way of letting all the Bowen's know what those other "wacky" Bowen's are up to.

The original "concept" will be to place general family news, family events, birthdays, anniversaries, births, weddings, bio's.etc. here, maybe we will have some contact info like e-mail addresses, or a message board,we will just have to see if this idea has any legs and how far it can run."

Mr. Bowen is also considering opening a web site that is specifically for his clans use. "Yeah I might do that." Bowen said, "We would have to get the financing and technical aspects of such a project finalized before it could go live, but that idea certainly has some merit."

Sports Shorts: Richard Bowen's recent inclusion of a new driver with thin face rebound technology into his golf bag has added more distance to his already "powerful" game. It is feasible to believe that Rick would say."Just because it does not conform to USGA rules does not mean that I am not justified in putting this club into play." Rick also added "Hook 'em Horns" to his theoretical statement.

Bowen tombstones are found under a house in Texas.

Bowen family researchers attempt to determine proper placement of stones.

Ben Bowen of the Bowen Family Web recently received this e-mail from a Ms. S.H. in Luling,Texas.

Mr. Bowen,

I'm sure you'll find this strange, but I think I have found a couple of your family's tombstones on my family's land near Luling, Texas. (CALDWELL COUNTY) The two tombstones were found at the old Moore family home about two years ago when it was being demolished (I think they were under the house.) I was trying to find out where they came from when I ran across your web site.

The engravings on the stones are as follows:

W.H. Bowen
Born Sept. 27. 1872
Died Nov. 17. 1938

Mother
Mrs. R.J.or( F) Bowen
Born Feb. 8 1869
Died Apr. 4. 1931

Uncle Bubba wrote that daughter Marlene Bowen Fruth and her husband Richard "retreived the family tombstones from Ms. S.H. near Luling. There are two of them they are made of sandstone measuring 2 ft high 11 inches wide and 4 inches thick.and weigh about 60 pounds each. They are hand carved with the names of

W.H. Bowen born Sept. 27, 1872--died Nov.17, 1938 and Mrs. R.F. Bowen born Feb. 8, 1869 and died Apr. 4, 1931

Now we should look for the cemetery where they are laid to rest and place these stones under a tree there if we cannot determine exactly the gravesite."

Ben Bowen has contacted the Caldwell County Historical society and has determined that records may be in their possession to help locate the burial grounds of the two Bowen's listed on the stones. It is our goal to place these stones in their proper locations.If you have any information please contact us.

Ruth Bowen of Deer Park Texas celebrates her 71st Birthday with a Luau.
Mrs. Bowen's birthday bash which was organized through secret, careful and concise co-ordination between Keli and Kale Bowen of Victoria Texas and was slated for Saturday July 21st, in Deer Park. Their super secret planning was usurped however, when Ben Bowen, Ruth's son ,hung his invitation on the refrigerator temporarily covering the "things to do list" which normally hangs there. The Luau planned for Mrs. Bowens back porch was held mainly indoors due to the hot Houston temperatures, but the kids splashed in two pools and shot at each other with squirt guns to keep each other coool.
Pina Colada's were had by all.

Snippets

The Bowen kids of Cuero, Texas were off on a whirlwind week long trip to a New Mexico summer camp with their church group this month.Traveling in the comfort of a big yellow bus, the trio enjoyed valuable time together and with a group of their peers on a great summertime adventure!

"The camp was named after me, so I was in charge." Said Summer.

Clayton Garrett "Bloots" Bowen has been approved for his Texas drivers license, prompting public outcries for an investigation and reform of the drivers license issuing process. A general " New Teen Driver" warning has been issued for Caldwell, Calhoun, Goliad, Guadalupe,Victoria and DeWitt Counties.

Clayton is known for winning the first Bowen poll for having the largest feet ( size 13 at last census) and taking a stand againt the wwf wrestler "Disco Man" claiming that his actions (disco dancing) in the ring were a "disgrace to wrestling."

A New Computer

The Norman Patrick Bowen family which includes his wife Debra, daughters Jenni & Kacy Jo and son "Handsome Dan" Bowen have stepped into the computer age by purchasing a new PC recently. "As soon as I learn how to turn it on I will send you an e-mail"
Debra promised the Bowen Family Newsletter staff.

Since then we have received multiple e-mail messages from Jenni who dials remotely into her grandmothers ISP using grandma's login and handsome Dan's user name.
( Keep your eye on those kiddies mom ! ) When Debra learned this news she was heard to say ;
"What's a login again?"

Ginger Bowen

Toby Richey and Ash Barker rode to San Miguel de Allende on July 1st to spend some time with me. Toby stayed a week and Ash and myself will be driving back Sunday the 22nd of July. Ash spent two weeks at the
Instituto Allende taking a children's art and Spanish class. He found he loves school and Mexican girls. He has given up on American girls, he says.

Brenna Bowen has new wheels
Brenna Bowen, who was never a fan of her speed limiting tri-cycle has graduated to a new two wheeler,she says she "is very good at riding it" and has only "almost" lost her balance once, but that her daddy was there to help her from falling over,and keep her moving in the right direction .....way to go dad!

Brenna Bowen,while visiting her grandma and Papa at her Uncle Mike's home in the Woodlands Texas, on the 23rd of July, ( Miss Bowen, also know as "The little jumping bean") ,had a spill from a chair and broke a bone in her left arm. Mom along with help from Dr. Mike has everything set back and in working order. "Should be about six weeks." said a worried momma Keli. Don't worry mom, kids heal quickly. Keli, Brenna and brother Nathan returned home on Monday for some needed R&R and a big hug from daddy.
A follow up on the 30th of July has Brenna healing fast and the determination was made to forego a hard cast.
