Generation
One WALTER WOODWORTH1 was the first
of this
family
to come to America, and he settled in
Scituate,
Massachusetts. He was born about 1612
probably in England.
His parents are not known. The name of his
wife is also
unknown. She died sometime between March
1676/7 and Nov
1685. Walter and his wife had ten children:

3) Joseph b 1645; 4) Elizabeth b ca 1647; 5)
Benjamin b ca

1664 05 1665. Walter made his will in Nov
1865, and died in
early 1686 in Scituate, Massachusetts. Generation Two BENJAMIN
WOODWORTH2 was born in Scituate,
Massachusetts
about 1648. His father was Walter WOODWORTH,
but the name
of
his mother is unknown. Benjamin married
before 1682 to a
woman named Deborah and they had three
children: 1)
Elizabeth bapt 16 Jul 1682; 2) Deborah bapt
16 Jul 1682;
and
3) Mary b ca 1683. Benjamin was married a
second time to
Hannah DAMON before 23 Jun 1692 and they had
eleven more
children 4) Benjamin b ca 1689; 5) Ichabod b
12 Mar 1691
(twin); 6) Ebenezer b 12 Mar 1691 (twin); 7)
Hannah b ca
1693; 8) Ruth b ca 1695; 9) Amos b ca 1697;
10) Ezekiel b

1699; 11) Judith b ca 1701; 12) Margaret b ca
1703; 13)
Caleb b 22 May 1704; and 14) Priscilla. In
1692 Benjamin
moved from Scituate to Lebanon, Connecticut.
He died there
on 22 Apr 1729. Generation Three EBENEZER
WOODWORTH3 was born 12 Mar 1691 in
either Little
Compton or Lebanon, Connecticut. He was the
son of Benjamin
WOODWORTH and Hannah DAMON. He was a twin of
Ichabod
WOODWORTH. He married
Rebecca SMALLEY 27 Dec 1717 in Lebanon,
Connecticut and
they
had eight children: 1) Ebenezer Jr b 26 Sep
1718; 2)
Zerviah
b 14 Nov 1720; 3) Eliphalet b 24 Sep 1722; 4)
Joseph b 19
Oct 1724; 5) Amassa b 4 Apr 1727; 6) Rebecca
b 25 Jul 1729;
7)
John b 24 Jan 1735; and 8) Phoebe b 9 Aug
1737. He was dead
before 20 Nov 1784. He wrote his will on 31
Oct 1765 and it
was probated 1 Oct 1785. Generation Four AMASSA
WOODWORTH4 was born 4 Apr 1727 in
Lebanon,
Connecticut. He was the son of Ebenezer
WOODWORTH and
Rebecca SMALLEY. Amassa married Hannah MOREY
about 1748 and
they had eleven children: 1) Elisha b ca

1752; 3) Martha b ca 1754; 4) John b ca 1755;

Jul 1756; 6) Israel b Jan 1760; 7) Ruby b ca

Conneticut to
Cornwallis, Nova Scotia, then back to
Connecticut before
going to Vermont. The date is unknown, but he
probably
died
in Essex, Vermont. Generation Five CHARLES
WOODWORTH5 was born ca 1770 in
Lebanon,
Connecticut, the son of Amassa WOODWORTH and
Hannah MOREY.
He married Miriam WILSON 11 Jan 1798 in
Leicester,
Massachusetts. Charles and Miriam had nine
childen: 1)
Tirzah b ca 1797 Canada; 2) Homer b 24 Aug
1899 Cambridge
VT; 3) Louis b 39 Jan 1802 LaColle Canada; 4)
Caissa b ca
1804 Canada; 5) Ophelia b 11 Feb 1805 Canada;

b 28 Feb 1807; 7) John b 15 May 1809 Stokes,
Ontario,
Canada; and 8) Eli b ca 1810 Canada and 9)
Porter b after
1810 Canada. Miriam died 1 Mar 1827. Nothing
more is known
of him. Generation Six JOHN
WOODWORTH6 son of Charles
WOODWORTH and Miriam
WILSON, was born 15 May 1809 in Stokes,
Ontario, Canada. He
married in Lennoxville, Canada before 1837 to
Phoebe
STEARNS. John and Phoebe moved several times
which is shown
in the birthplaces of the following thirteen

IN. John WOODWORTH records show a lot of
descrepancys and
this family needs more work. Phoebe died 26
Oct 1861 in
Kendallville, Indiana and John died 1894 in
Lima, Ohio. Generation Seven MARY ELIZA
WOODWORTH7 was the daughter of
John WOODWORTH
and
Phoebe STEARNS. She was born 16 Jan 1837 in
Summit County,
Ohio. By 1850 the family was living in
LaGrange County,
Indiana and on 7 Jul 1852 she was married
there to Elias B.
CHAFFEE. Eliza and Elias had
three children
surnamed CHAFFEE, according to the 1850
census: 1) Orrin
Elias born 29 Jul 1854; 2) Albert W. born 6
Jul 1857; and
3)
Richard C. born 29 Aug 1859. Elias died on 22
Dec 1859. He
was only thirty years old, and died of
stomach cancer. On 1
Nov 1860 Mary was married again to Samuel
Story. She was
his
second wife. Mary had four more children
surnamed Story. 4)
Inez born 5 Mar 1867; 5) Herman born 5 Aug
1869; 6) Hettie
R. born 30 Sep 1874; and 7) Ida born 30 Sep
1874. Samuel
Story served in the Civil War, and sometime
after 1874 they
moved to Smith County, Kansas where they
lived the rest of
their lives. Samuel's death date is unknown
to me at this
time, but Mary Eliza died 30 Mar 1909 in
Labanon, Smith
