I felt a chill go down my spine when I felt his touch. We started walking through the rainforest part of the island. We chatted a little, trying to get our minds off the fact that we were stranded on a desert island for god knows how long. I saw a beautiful plant and ran ahead.
"Kristy don't go so fast!" Brian yelled.
"What, can't keep up?" I teased, stopping and turning to face him.
"Well, normally I would be able to. But, your legs may be fine, but mine are full of cuts and bruises, so slow it down please."
"Ok, ok. But look, isn't it beautiful?" I asked, pointing to a gorgeous and unusual-looking flower.
"Yeah, it is," he replied, standing close to me. "So are you…" he murmured. Then he turned red. "Did I say that out loud?" he asked.
"Yeah, and it's sweet," I replied.
He grinned.
"Well, as much as I'm enjoying this, we better start walking again," I said.
He agreed, so we went exploring again.
"So, tell me about yourself," he said.
"Ok, well, I'm 22, my best friend is Korin, and I live with her and 3 other girls, Elissa, Chandra, and Danielle. I work at a graphic design firm specializing in the entertainment industry, and in a few years I'm going to start my own firm. I play the flute, I love basketball, I listen to music ALL the time, and I'm proudly an AOL addict. I'm stubborn, have to be in charge, I love making people laugh, I'm sarcastic, I'm a good listener and people tend to come to me with their problems. I psychoanalyze people a lot, it's just what I do naturally, Korin calls me a shrink, but I know she likes it. Anything else you wanna know?"
"Yeah, but I'll find out for myself."
"I'm sure you will."
We basically flirted for most of the time. Of course, we didn't find any water, but I was having fun just being with him. He was SO funny, but also sweet and caring. We were on our way back when I tripped over a stone, because it was getting dark and I couldn't see too well. I fell to the ground and Brian immediately knelt beside me.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yep."
"You sure? I mean you aren't just saying that?"
"Yeah, I'm sure."
He nodded and helped me to my feet.
"You seem to be helping me up a lot today, Mr. Littrell," I said.
"Yeah, it does seem that way," he said with THAT smile.
Then I felt his head moving towards mine and I close my eyes as he kissed me softly.
"Sorry if that was too soon," he said.
"Don't be sorry, cause it wasn't."
I returned the kiss, and this time it lasted longer and was a little more passionate, but still gentle. We smiled when we pulled away. Then we realized it had gotten dark and I started freaking out.
"Shit! We're on a desert island and it's night!" I exclaimed.
"Shh, it'll be okay, I won't let anything happen to you."
He slipped his arm around my waist, and I immediately felt safer.
~*~Korin's POV~*~
They left, and AJ and I were alone. We sat, our backs against part of the wreckage, in silence for a few minutes. Then AJ looked at me.
"I bet you wish you had some Aspirin," he said.
I smiled.
"Yeah, I could use a few. How about a whole bottle full?"
We laughed. Then there was a silence, but it was a comfortable one, quiet between friends. He spoke again.
"So, where are you from? Who's your friend? How do you know her? You know, stuff like that. I wanna get to know you."
"Um, okay," I replied, startled. "Well, Kristy and I are both from San Fran, she's 22, I'm 21, and we've known each other since we were 12 years old in 7th grade. We were on our way to Hawaii for a vacation that she won on our favorite radio station. I'm stubborn, nosy, and I love being the center of attention and making people laugh. She's the understanding, caring listener, and all I can ever think of to say is 'I'm sorry', 'Oh damn', and 'Sounds like hell to me'."
He looked at me, as though appraising me. I felt uncomfortable but I wasn't about to let him know it, so I stared right back. A slow smile spread across his face.
"Well, you sure as hell don't back down," he said laughing.
I grinned.
"Told you I was stubborn."
He raised an eyebrow at me.
"I think you're more of an understanding listener type person than you think." He paused. "And - this is totally off subject - you have really amazing eyes."
I blinked, startled, and murmured a quiet thank you.
"It's true," he assured me.
"Do I look like I don't believe you or something?"
"No, you just look kind of embarrassed."
I smiled nervously.
"I am."
Suddenly I felt myself slipping into flirt mode. So we flirted for nearly 2 hours. Then, he started to pull me closer. I felt a shiver of excitement run through me. We were almost touching, when there was a crashing sound and Nick, Howie, and Kev stumbled into our clearing.
