I glanced over at Brian, who was still sleeping. He looked so cute in his sleep. I was in love with him. I knew it, but I was too afraid to let myself realize it. I just loved everything about him - everything - even his faults.
I carefully removed his arm from around me without waking him and climbed out of bed, trying to ignore the sick feeling in my stomach. I walked over to the desk and scribbled a note to Brian:
Bri-
Thanx for letting me sleep here last night. I went to my room to get ready. Come over once you're up. Just thought I'd write you a note so you wouldn't think I ditched you or something:) See ya.
Luv,
Kristy
I put the note on his nightstand and walked out the door. I unlocked the door to my room and collapsed on the bed. I knew something was going to happen that day. Yet I couldn't stop it. Damnit. I pulled myself off the bed and took a shower. Then I changed into cargos and a Monarchs basketball jersey. I felt like dressing comfortably that day. I did my hair, put a fisherman's hat on, and applied a little bit of eye concealer to hide the dark circles under my eyes due to lack of sleep. I was about to head down to the lobby when I remembered we had the day off. Well, Illusion had the day off. The guys, however, did not. So were kinda planning on having a girls' day out. I laid back on my bed, feeling stupid because I had gone through all the trouble to get dressed when I didn't have to get up yet. I took one of my many notebooks out and started working on one of my many novels. I got so involved I almost didn't notice when Brian knocked on the door. Well, actually, he had to knock 3 times to get my attention. When I finally realized he was at the door, I jumped off the bed and ran to the door.
"Hey, sorry," I said with an apologetic smile.
"That's ok," he replied, returning the smile.
"Anyway, Illusion has the day off, and we're gonna go out and explore Frisco, even though we've explored it god knows how many times in our lives, so I just wanted to say goodbye since I probably won't see you till later tonight."
"Ok, bye baby," Brian said, giving me a long goodbye kiss.
After we pulled away, I watched Brian walk down the hall, praying it wouldn't be the last time. I rolled my eyes at my thinking and went back into my room. I watched TV until the other girls got up. When they finally awoke, we decided to go to Pier 31 and get some shopping done.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
We arrived at the Pier about a half hour later. Immediately, we went into all the tourist shops. Somehow, those stores never seem to get old. There was this one really cool store - it only sold magnets. We all ended up buying something there. I got this fake silver magnetic nose ring, Korin got a flat magnet that said 'Warning: I can go to from ZERO to BITCH in 3 seconds flat.', Karen got this wierd magnet that flashed and made noises, Alta got a flat magnet that said 'I do what the little voices in my head tell me to', and Elissa got a Nick Carter magnet. The teasing began.
"Lissa, why do you need a Nick magnet? You're dating him!" I exclaimed through laughter.
"I can find a useful purpose for it!" Lizzy said in defense.
"We don't wanna know!" Alta, Kori, Karen, and I yelled in unison.
"NO! NOT LIKE THAT! You guys are sick!" she squealed.
The rest of us just continued to laugh at her while she just pouted.
The day continued, with similar incidences happening through out it. It took us several to get the the other side of the pier, because we kept stopping at every single store. When we finally did get down there, we all acted like little kids and rode the carousel. As we were getting off, I spotted another one of my favorite pier stores.
"Hey guys, I'm gonna go in that one. Anyone coming?" I said, gesturing to the store.
"The wind-up toys store? Why do you want to go in there?" Karen asked, wrinkling her face.
"It's a really cute store, trust me. I love it in there," I explained.
"I'll come with ya Kris. I like that store," Kori said.
"Anyone else?" I asked, looking at the remaining 3.
"Nah, I think I'm gonna go get some ice cream," Alta replied.
"Me too," Karen agreed.
"Lissa? Where you going?" I turned her, noticing that she hadn't spoken in the last 20 minutes.
"I think I'm just going to sit here. I don't feel so great," she spoke weakly, sitting on a bench.
"Ok, feel better girl," I said, giving her a hug.
We all went off to our separate places. Korin and I immediately shooting rubber things at each other when we got in there. Aren't we so mature? When we got sick of doing that, we separated and looked at the different wind-up toys. I was trying to get a little wind-up doggie to work when I suddenly felt two strong hands on my waist. I gasped as a gun was pressed into my spine.
