Welcome to my web page. The purpose of this site is to spread good web sites (mostly for wav's and MP3's, however). There are 11 good URL links below, up to and including my very own chat room and a link to the kind people at beseen.com who provided it. I will be adding more as I find them.
The newly adopted MP3 System, you can download the prefered player, winamp,at http://www.winamp.com . MP3 sounds are near cd quality and are quite a bit smaller than there predecessores, the .wav file. A file that would be near 40mb as a wav, would be about 5mb as a MP3, as they actually are, and play, compressed. You can create your own MP3's with two simple to use and free tools with ease. I recently tested the new Windows Media Player, while you can't have a playlist, or any of the other more luxurious features of winamp, on slower computers, it works much smoother, get it and other windows updates here http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Still choppy?? after picking the file, goto file, properties, advanced tab, select MPEG-LAYER3-Decoder and click properties, then, click the tab labled quality, and adjust the frequency setting. That should fix it with no noticeable sound-quality differences.
The most effective and efficient method of actually getting your MP3's is by using CUTEFTP (follow link below) ftp site browser. Once you open CUTEFTP, minimize it and open your browser, goto Audio Galaxy (link also below) (or other such mp3/ftp search engine) and serach for the artist, group, or song you want. After that, maximize CUTEFTP and click the quick connect button (lightning bolt) on the tool bar, and enter the appropriate information from the web site in the appropriate places. (tip: try all non-ratio sites first, espeacially if you have nothing to give!). Please note: always follow all laws and regulations that regard the use of MP3's (*wink, wink*).
