Come on in, sit down, relax. Try not to mind the dust--seems this place is always under construction. What can I get for you? Hmmm, let's see, there's links soup, index pie, and a cup of explanation to wash it down with. Sorry, best I can do in the middle of nowhere. Well, at least it's on the house, eh? Oh, and do me a favor. Eat your credits. They're good for you.
Below you'll find a list of the links used in the main story "Myles Away". The story was created in the fall of 1997 and has slowly added links and features since then. It is based loosely on an actual event--a friend and I were on the way home from Vegas when our car broke down. The first time it broke down we had stopped at a lovely cafe in the desert--sadly, I've lost the flyer I picked up there. Wonderful little Greek place with great ice cream, in a town whose claim to fame is a huge thermometer visible from the road. It must have been about 100 degrees that day, late in August in the late morning. The second time we broke down on the median and I took some pictures. The forecast called for rain but it never came. There was a Sparklett's truck, but if there were any ghosts they were in my head. We'll probably take a bus this year...
The ghost is a representation of myself, as is the theme of 90% of the links. Watch your status bar for messages that tie it all in when you're at that page. I was attempting a new form of prose; only you can tell me if I was successful. If you get a fair idea of who I am from the contents of that page then I've accomplished what I set out to do.
Please sign my guestbook and let me know what you think. Please, please link this page or the main page to yours, particularly if you like it! Happy trails!

Credits and explanations You are here!
Myles Away was designed using the WBS homepage form, without which I would still have no clue how to work HTML. Additional pages, including this one, were made using Netscape Navigator Gold download edition.
messages from Myles Away, is now carried on DreamBooks guestbook service. The deliberate misspelling of "myles" was a hazard of the old GuestWorld books.. "Myles" was also the name of this really cute ska singer with a knack for disappearing and reappearing for no apparent reason. Cent mille mercis to the folks who dropped in and left a note.
ISP provided at a reasonable cost by Cyberg8t , Claremont California. This and the 'rant' page are kept there, the main page and most of the rest are kept with WBS.
Thanks to "Jet City girl" for the lovely Cafe' sign graphic.
Special thanks to my alma mater Chapman University for introducing me to the Internet, to coffeehouses, and reminding me of the joy of information. Someday, somehow, I will repay you.
Special thanks also to "Lit'Le One", her Valentine, and their car for getting me to Vegas and back, and for being friends in general. Thanks to "keechakatt" for showing me WBS and the joys of chat. Thanks to the denizens of "Sanctuary" for showing me that message bases can be fun on the Net too. A long lost thanks to "Frater Hagios" for introducing me to BBSing, among other things. Cent mille mercis to sysops everywhere, but in partic "Princess Diablo", "Monk", "Lachesis", "God's Kid", and the locals of the 909 for keeping the fire burning. Thanks to Mom for being a morning person who doesn't mind having her phone tied up from bedtime to sunrise.
And it almost goes without saying. Thanks to you for reading my page. Without you I am whistling in the wind.
