This is our wolfdog, Nakomis and to be perfectly honest, we do not know, for sure, her exact percentage of wolf.
When we went to see her, we were shown a picture of her father and a paper, signed by a vet, that said her father was 100% pure wolf.
We were also told, at the same time, that Nakomis' mother was 50% German Shephard and 50% Akita and she looked it.
The mother was a very beautiful and loving dog and all the puppies were adorable,
but Nakomis was the one that came right to us and just seemed to say, "Take me home, I love you", and we felt that she was indeed a special puppy and we had already fallen in love with her, too.
From the time we brought her home, there has been a mutual love and respect between us.
Nikki, her nickname, loves all the attention she gets and is spoiled rotten
and in turn, she showers us with wet, sloppy kisses and gives us all the love she has.
Having a wolfdog as part of our family has been wonderful for us all, but it is not for everyone.
