The small beach town, Santa Carla, is overrun by vampires. People openly know about them, just they sometimes choose not to believe. Missing people rates are high, and most people try to get inside at night. A small family moves in with one of their relatives, who lives in Santa Carla. The oldest son, Mike, encounters a group of what turn out to be vampires, and falls in love with Star, the only female in the group. After drinking vampire blood, he too becomes a vampire, albeit in training, since he has to make a first kill to become a real vampire.
The middle son meets the Frog Brothers who work at a comic book store. They help him with the vampires, and eventually come with him to the vampire's "nest".
If the leader vampire dies, all the vampires he made will turn back to normal. The head vampire turns out to be the guy that Mike's mom is dating. When he dies, Mike turns back to normal.
This movie is one of the coolest vampire movies. All of it was filmed in Santa Cruz, CA, and the UCSC campus Arbritum which makes it even cooler. Another thing cool about this movie is that the vampires are kind of normal; they don't dress up in capes, or wear weird clothes. The vampires in this movie ride motorcycles and dress relatively normal.
