Buffy the Vampire Slayer started out as a low budget Luke Perry vehicle made in 1992. The vampires looked like normal people, but they had fangs. Overall the movie
bombed.
The plot centered around a shallow Valley Girl named Buffy who discovers thaat she is the "Chosen One", the Vampire Slayer. She hooks up with Puck, played by Perry, and together they take on the head of the vampires, finally drfeating him at the senior dance. Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee) is great as the vamp sidekick, and Donald Sutherland and Rutger Howard also star.
In 1996, the show came out on the WB, after the movie's writer decided to bring it to the small screen. It had an entirely different cast, Buffy went from a senior to a sophomore, and the vampires had changed dramatically. Here is a picture of a vampire form the show:
The main character Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, moves to Sunnydale (commonly called SunnyHell) where she meets her new watcher, Rupert Giles. Buffy also makes new friends, Willow, Xander, and Cordelia, and they help he kill whatever evil they come across.
The show also includes several vampire characters which usually (unless they are dead) appear on the show:
-Angel ~ a vampire with a soul. He went out with Buffy and lost his soul, got sent to hell, and then came back with his soul. He's Buffy's on again/off again boyfriend
-Spike ~ a vampire introduced in 2nd season. He came to Sunnydale with his girlfriend, Drusilla, and was briefly handicapped after he was crushed under an organ in a burning church. He terrorized Sunnydale until he left to chase after his insane girlfriend. Appeared later while drunk in an episode and hasn't been seen since.
-Dru ~ a vampire sired by Angel. Spike's insane girlfriend. Became infatuated with Angel and made Spike mad so her knocked her out and ran off...She dumped him..
- The Master ~ master vampire, now deceased. Heilled Buffy, but she came was recussitated by Xander, and killed him before he could open the Hellmouth.
The show does not just cover vampires though. One of Buffy's friends Oz is a werewolf. They have fought demons, fishboys, insane teenagers who pop veins out of their heads, little kids who die every fifty years, a giant snake, the freak Mayor of Sunndydale, now bad slayer, Faith, A computer machine robot demon, ancient girls, and many more.
