Chapter 20 ~~ The Last Chapter

A week later, Dave and Jewel walked onto the huge field that the dance was being held at. The years before, the dance had been held inside a gym, but the night was so beautiful that they decided to hold it outside this year. There was a D.J. playing all the newest records and there was already quite a few people there.

Jewel looked around at all the people, trying to spot Scott and Summer. "There they are," said Jewel, pointing to the middle of the huge dance floor.

"Let's go over to them," suggested Dave. They walked up behind them and tapped Summer on the shoulder. Summer turned around on her crutches and smiled.

"Well, well. If it isn't Elvira and The Phantom of the Opera. How you guys doing?" she asked.

"Good. We just got here. How long have you guys been here?" asked Dave.

"Few minutes," answered Scott, through his vampire teeth.

"Cool costume Sum," said Jewel. Summer was dressed in a gold Cleopatra outfit. She even made her crutches gold. She had gold streaks in her hair and gold sparkles on her face, around her eyes.

Scott had a dark cape and black outfit on with vampire teeth, stained with fake blood, in his mouth. He also had a black mask on.

Dave had a kind of suit on with a cape that was black on the outside and red on the inside. On the left side of his race was a white mask with red scars around the outside.

Jewel was wearing a black dress with a low cut neck and back line and a slit up on one of her legs that went almost to her hip. She had put black streaks in her light brown hair and had a black mask on her eyes. The guys were also wearing masks so no one would reconize them.

"Where's Clint and Bob?" They said they were coming, didn't they?" asked Dave.

"WEll, I think that's Bob over there, dancing with a witch," said Summer, pointing to a witch and a mummy in the cornor. "I haven't seen Clint yet."

"Did he tell you what he was coming as?" Scott asked Dave. Dave shook his head.

Then the song ended and another fast one started.

"Come on Sum, let's dance," smiled Scott. The two of them walked off and started dancing.

"Fine, leave us then," joked Jewel.

"Come on, let's go hear up the dance floor," smiled Dave, offering his hand. Jewel smiled as she took his hand and they walked onto the floor.

"You move pretty good for being on crutches," said Scott.

Summer smiled. "No stupid crutches are going to stop me from having a good time," she replied.

"Sounds like a good plan," smiled Scott.

"Hey, what's Clint doing?" asked Summer. She pointed over to where Clint was talking to the D.J. The D.J. nodded and clicked a few bullons and soon a slow song was coming over the speakers. They watched as Clint thanked the D.J. and started to walked towards Jewel and Dave.

"Uh oh," said Scott, his eyes getting wide.

"I think there is going to be fireworks," said Summer.

"Last time there was fireworks, we nearly got killed," Scott pointed out.

"That's the point," said Summer, turning to Scott with a frown.

"Hey you two. Having fun?" asked a voice.

Jewel and Dave turned around and saw Clint smiling at them.

"Hey Clint, we were wondering where you were," said Jewel.

"Cool costume," sadi Dave. Clint was dressed as Dr. Jekal and Mr. Hyde. On one side of his face was stuff like scales (think Kevin from Backstreet Boys in Everybody).

"Hey Jewel. Wanna dance with me?" asked Clint, holding out his hand.

Jewel looked at Dave, then back at Clint and smiled. "I'd love to," she said, as she took Clint's hand.

"Ya don't mind if I steal her for a minute, do ya bro?" asked Clint. Dave shook his head and said nothing.

Jewel leaned her crutches against the wall and Clint took her into his arms.

"I really like your costume. The dress looks really good on you," sadi Clint smiling.

Even though she had a mask on, Clint could see that she was blushing. "Thanks. When I walked over here, I think about 4 boys almost fainted at the sight of me," laughed Jewel.

"It's no wonder," said Clint softly, looking into her eyes. Jewel looked back at him. "You doing anything on Saterday?" Clint asked her, not breaking his gaze.

"Not as far as I know," she answered smiling.

"Do you wanna go to a movie with me?" he asked.

Jewel smiled. "I'd love to," she replied.

By that time, the song was over. The two of them seperated and Jewel walked back over to Dave, who was joined by Scott and Summer.

"You two seemed to be deep in conversation. What were you talking about?" asked Summer, ever curious.

"Nothing much. He just asked me out to a movie on Saterday," grinned Jewel.

"Really?" asked Scott, watching Dave out of the cornor of his eye. He had an unreadable look on his face.

"Yup," said Jewel. "Come on Sum, let's go request a song," she said, grabbing Summer's arm and pulling her away.

Scott turned to Dave. "You ok?" he asked.

Dave looked at the ground. "Ya, why wouldn't I be?" he mumbled. "I'm going to get a drink."

Scott watched him leave. "This is going to be a long dance," he sighed.

Veronica watched as Jewel and Summer walked towards the DJ.

"What do I have to do to stop them?" Veronica asked herself, frownning. "What ever I do, I better not do it for a while. Let's them feel safe." Veronica smiled evilly. "Then, I'll hunt then down and stop them for good."

Well, that's it. But have no fear, there is a sequel. I wrote this story a long time ago so I've had time to make a sequel. It's called Learning To Trust Love Check it out>
