Chapter 10

"My stomach will never be the same," groaned Clint.

"Man, that ride was the best," said Dave, with a spring in his step.P> "The Crazy Flip can make your stomach strange if your not an exprienced rider, like myself," smiled Jewel.

"I'm an experienced rider. That ride just makes my stomch do the flips," said Clint, defending himself.

"Whatever," smiled Summer.

"Let's go on the Ferris Wheel," said Dave.

"I don't know," said Jewel, looking at the sky. "The clouds, they're threatening a storm."

Summer looked up too. "Na, it wouldn't rain," she said. She grabbed Jewel's hand and dragged her to the ferris wheel. The seat sat 4 people and had a sort of umbrella thing over top of it.

"I think I'll sit out. My stomach probaly take all that spinning around," said Clint, sitting down on a bench.

"I'm sitting out too," said Bob, sitting down.

"Wimps," smiled Scott.

"And proud to be," said Clint. Scott rolled his eyes.

"Then it's the 4 of us?" asked Summer, looking over at Jewel.

Jewel looked up at the sky and sighed. "The 4 of us," she said finally.

They got in line and a few minutes later, were in a seat. Jewel and Summer sat together across from Scott and Dave. Up they went.

"I don't like this. There's a storm coming, I just know it," said Jewel, shifting around in her seat, hugging her backpack.

"Jewel's terrifed of lightening," explained Summer.

"Aww, don't worry. It won't storm," said Scott.

Just then, a bolt of lightening shattered the sky.

Jewel gave Scott a dirty look. "You don't predict much, do you?" she asked.

Scott would have answered but an ear shattering thunder clap sliced the air.

"Oh man, oh man," said Jewel, her face white.

Then, as they reached the very tip, the feriss wheel shuddered and jerked to a stop.

"Why did it stop?" asked Jewel, a scared look on her face.

"To let people off," said Summer, rolling her eyes.

Jewel settled down but not for long. Another lightning bolt split the air. Jewel cringed. She heard some yelling from people on the ground. She looked down, confused.

"What's the matter?" asked Scott.

Jewel hushed him and listened harded. Then her face went even whiter. She turned to the others.

"The power's gone. They can't get it back on," said Jewel. "We're stuck."
