There will be no Phillip The Fireman again this week. The only thing that happened was that Phillip and the rest of the his company was called to cover the Piedra station on Monday morning at 1:30 am. He said that when everyone got there they all went back to bed and got up for work a few hours later.
I think mom forgot to shrink the pictures when she uploaded them to the website, so I don't know how long it will take to load them.
It's official. We are going to Disneyland!! Mom has been trying to plan this trip for over a year. We will be there from November 10th--mom's thirty-oneth birthday (that's what she calls it) to November 14th. Mom says that if Paul gets sick before we leave she is going to trade him in on a newer model.
It looks like my Aunt Rocky and Uncle Ryan are going to move to Mexico again for a few months next year. If I save up some money they are going to let me stay with them for a week or two.
My reader of the week article is about my Aunt Lisa. My Aunt Lisa was born on December 10th, 1968 in Fresno, California. She always got good grades in school and was always quiet. She also read ALL THE TIME (and we assume she still does) Mom also said Lisa has always been highly intelligent. She played in the Little League and went through a phase where she collected baseball cards. Aunt Lisa was also in the Brownies/Girl Scouts. She was awarded many merit badges and received the highest award they give.
She played flute and piccolo in high school, was in the Academic Decathalon, won the first annual eighth grade Spelling Bee and some kind of science award.
Lisa went to UC Davis for her Bachlor’s Degree and then to Loma Linda University for her Master’s in Public Health. She is currently working in Merced, California at the WIC department. She is a registered Dietician. Aunt Lisa was always, and still is, a very neat and organized person. She can crochet and knit and occasionally helps mom with my newsletter.
Mom’s friend LeeAnn once said about Lisa that "she is so good, it reeks from her." I think she was referring to the fact that Lisa was always good at everything she tried.
Grandpa can remember a time when Lisa was about 10 years old. He was trying to win a stuffed animal for my Aunt Rocky (who was two) at Knot’s Berry Farm amusment park. He spent like $50. Lisa asked for a dollar and tried the game. On the first try she won a giant bear for Rocky, plus a 25 pound ham!!
When Lisa was in Little League she and another friend were the only girls on the whole league (so was mom when she played baseball years later!). Sometimes they would get teased pretty bad. My grandpa remembers them having to defend themselves a lot. After beating up a couple of boys the teasing stopped.
When Lisa was in the 8th grade she did a science fair project. She feed 3 rats healthy food like fruits and veggies and 3 rats junk food like Twinkies and cupcakes. Mom remembers watching the healthy rats get really big and strong. The other rats stayed small. Mom and Lisa used to play with the rats all the time and they were really friendly. Lisa won an award for her experiment.
What we didn’t know was that the smaller rats were probably starving because one night they broke out of their own cage and got into the cage that held the healthy rats. (I know this is really gross) but The small rats actually ate the big rats!! Then they escaped. If that wasn’t bad enough, the rats didn’t leave the house. Once in a while they could be seen under the kitchen sink and stuff. Once they stole a sandwich off of a plate that was laying on the floor. Even though everyone knew the rats would not attack anyone it was still really freaky. Mom hates rats still and won’t let me have one as a pet.
My grandpa says that Lisa used to have a chemistry set and she was always trying to make unusual stuff like poison gases and crazy stuff like that. Mom remembers being a little afraid of going into her room. She also remembers a time when Lisa was trick her into doing things like lick a nine-volt battery. Once Lisa told mom she was adopted because she looked nothing like her and Rocky. Mom was also the only one in our family that didn't have a letter 'R' in her name. Mom thought she was adopted for over a year!
Make sure and click on the link below. It is an informative website Aunt Lisa created about WIC and other medical stuff. It's very interesting. Don't forget to sign her guestbook also!

This weekend we drove up to Morro Bay. We stayed in a small town called Lompoc. Our original plan was to to a Danish Town called Solvang. We got there at 9:30 on Sunday morning and we looked around but it was boring and most stuff was still closed.
We drove to Morro Bay and after eating lunch we browsed some shops. Mom suggested we rent a canoe or kayak. We ended up getting a canoe.
Mom and Phillip paddled across the bay to the sand bar and I thought it was kind of scarry when the boat tilted or there were small waves. When we were done playing at the sand bar, I got to switch places with mom and paddle. It was fun!
The trip home was uneventful. We ate at a roadside cafe. We had to stop a lot after we left because I drank too much soda. We got home at 8:30 or 9:00 and everyone was tired.
Some of the pictures mom took were while I was paddling and she was sitting with Paul in the middle. That's why some of the pictures were at strange angles.
Not happy about his lifejacket....

Around August 4th, Phillip will have a new job at Central Valley Ready Mix. The business has been in exsistence for about 90 years. Phillip will be a cement truck driver. That means he will be delivering wet cement to building sites.
Phillip says that he chose this job because it’s closer, easier, better pay, and better benefits.
Central Valley Ready Mix is on the edge of Sanger about 10 miles from here. His current job is about 60 miles round trip. He has to work six days a week but Saturdays are only a half day. Phillip won’t be able to do the mail route because of his work schedule.
****LATE BREAKING NEWS!!****
Phillip called mom this morning with the news that today will be his last day. Don his boss said that he could go ahead and make today his last day so he wouldn't have to drive back and forth to Fresno for his remaining two weeks. Phillip called Central Valley Ready mix right away and now he starts his new job on Monday.
