HEALTH:
My vitamin regemin consists of several supplements on alternating days, we'll just call then even and odd days for simplicity. For example,
On "even" days, I'll take a Multivitamin with minerals, a B-complex, a vitamin "E" softgel, 1/4th of an asprin, and a DHEA tablet (25 MG).
On "odd" days I take mostly antioxidants: 1 Garlic Caplsule, 250 MG of Vitamin C, 1 PYCNOGENOL capsule (pine bark extract) - And about once a week I'll take 25,000 IU's of Beta Carotine - very important for vegetarians like myself, but be CAREFUL not to take too much because the shit becomes TOXIC on your system
DIET: I am a vegetarian, pretty strict, no meat or fish or anything that has a face, no milk (I drink soy milk), but I will eat cheese on occasion. I try to keep it low fat, and high protien
HAIR CARE: I wash my hair every other day. On one day, I'll use CITRE SHINE shampoo and conditioner. On the alternate day, I'll use HEAD & SHOULDERS and THERMASILK conditioner. Guys and gals, especially with long hair, DO be careful not to tangle your hair when you wash it. For people with short hair, they can just jump in the shower and scrum thier scalp and hair indiscriminately. NOT SO for people with long hair. My darlings out there, keep your hair as STRAIGHT AS POSSIBLE WHEN YOU SHAMPOO IT. You can still keep it straight and clean it. You can still carefully massage your scalp. You can still rinse it clean. It will all just take a little longer, but it's worht it. When you get out of the shower, CAREFULLY comb your hair with a wide-spaced thick-toothed comb, or a good brush. If you feel any tangles, BE SURE TO HOLD THE HAIR BY THE ROOT before brushing or combing out the tangle. Try to leave as little hair in your brush or comb as possible (though a little is normal shedding). MEN: Keep your bangs short. This will drastically reduce any tangling around your all-important hair line. If you start needing to comb out tough tangles in your bangs, you risk damaging your hair line. DO NOT comb your hair straight back unless you know for 100% sure you have all your tangles out - you do not want to pull your hair out. If you follow my instructions in the shower, then you should notice a 90% REDUCTION of tangling in your hair.
EXERCICE: On "odd days" I will lift wieghts in the morning and evening. Being consistant is more important than doing a lot and wearing yourself out. On "even days" I will take a break from weight lifting and do other types of exercise, most notably toe-touches and side bends (esp. in the morning these are nice easy exercises), sit ups, crunches and walking on the Treadmill. MAKE SURE YOU EXERCISE IN THE MORNING. Even if just a little bit. It will make you feel better all day long, set your metabolic rate, and improve your mood. You don't have to do the WHOLE workout in the morning, but do part of it, even a small part. You can always finish it later in the evening. BE SURE to exercise every day - at least some - if you feel well: you are much, much more likely to feel depressed and hopeless if you do not.
