HOW I ALMOST WENT IN THE ARMY
Back when I was 18, my friend Troy and I often visited the Army recruiting station. I was interested in going in, providing I got my MOS. This is the story of the WILD NIGHT I had when I stayed the night at a hotel in Downtown detroit when we were going through processing.
I arrived at the hotel, and waited for my roommate. I was young, VERY SKINNY, had long hair.. and in walks this "jock" type guy... Oh great. Anyway he leaves for a little while and comes back and says "hey they have a party going on down the street you wanna go?" so I said Sure. His name was John Hall, and he was 21, 3 years older than me. This was 1985.
So, we went and it was kind of a block party, and we started drinking.. we got pretty drunk (he was buying all the alcohol for us). So we're just walking around the city and he says "hey, you wanna get laid? We have a hotel room, and I'm sure we could find some prostitutes and take them back with us..". I was a virgin at that time, so I was like "YEAH, SURE!!!!". I didn't have much money, but he said that he would pay for it. So we walked around. And around. UP AND DOWN THE STREETS OF DOWNTOWN DETROIT in the middle of the night. This sounds real dangerous, but interestingly enough, it wasn't. There was nobody out on the streets. We just walked. Finally, we came across this bubbly black woman who smiles real big and says "Hey, you want a DATE?" and we were like "Sure!!". She said "Ya'll ain't the police are you?" And we're like "NO!" so she says "Whip your dicks out!" - I don't remember if we did or not..
Anyway, they came with us, and we resumed walking around detroit. John was walking ahead with his girl, who he was holding hands with. I walked a ways back with mine and we just kinda talked.
Eventually, we found and hailed a cab, and got inside with our ladies. I don't remember if John was kissing his or not, but mine kept saying "I can't wait to have sex with you... boy I wanna suck yo dick and fuck you..". I remember that at one point during the cab ride we were talking about how we were going into the army, and one of the girls said "Boy, let me tell you, if you get me pregnant, I'll be taking half that check every month!!!!
So anyway, we arrived back at the hotel and it was like 3:30AM. We walk in with these two prostitutes and head for the elevator. The clerk at the desk says "Woah, woah, wait a minute.. You boys from the Army? YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE OUT, YOU SHOULD'T HAVE LEFT THE HOTEL. YOU GIRLS AIN'T GOING UP THERE!!!!!!!! YOU BOYS GET BACK TO YOUR ROOMS... So John and I hop in the elevator and the girls were like "Wait!!! No, uh uh... wait a minute, how we gonna get home now..? HOW WE GONNA GET HOME????" and I remember the looks on their faces and what they were saying as the elevator doors SHUT, and up we went to our rooms. Kinda funny.
We layed down, trying to get some sleep as we had to be up at 5:AM for the all day physical which was in like an hour.. I don't think either of us slept AT ALL. Anyway we got up, went down and ate breakfast together.. he got done quick and I was still eating and others were getting up, and I said "you wanna get up?" and he said "No, just whenever you're finished.."
I never saw John after that. We went to different places, and I went through the whole all day physical, but after not getting the MOS I was guaranteed, I didn't sign up for the Army.
But what a crazy, wild night that was.
