The Heirophant
Alone above a rocky shore
a withered sillouette of age
hes seen the world bare to its core
and now this knowledge becomes his cage
He beckons me to take my place
No words but only whispering eyes
he tugs a veil from off his face
soft, pink skin revealed to my surprise
He chuckles, still intense with thought
Then parted lips prepare to speak
"My son, I have not what you sought
No answers that you desperately seek"
My disappointment could not contain
the confusion spilling over edge
"Dear boy to see the worldly rain
stand not less near than at the ledge
A story heard is a story learned
but fades with coming of the grey
A story lived is an experience earned
that nevers starts to fade away
Don't watch the dancing leaf thats blown
but stand before the howling wind
don't leave the seedlings newly sown
but nurture them until their end
To make you fully understand
what wonders still remain to come
you must touch life by your own hand
and feel the heat of a rising sun
So here on out I do condone
you strive to open all doors locked
for know, my son, that path thats known
is nothing to the path thats walked
