Show Biz contiues to amaze me. Just when you think it's coming to a halt...something happens to change everything! I have to tell you about the Immature concert at Knott's Berry Farm in Anaheim, California.
First off, they scheduled it on the same night as the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards with Puffy and Rosie O'Donnell and thousands of kids from all over the country.
Secondly, the weather in California that day was terrible. The freeways were all clogged up and I thought the show would be canceled. But I was wrong.
We all met at the Hook offices in Studio City and went from there to the park. There were three vans that took all of us who were participating in the show to Knott's. There were dancers, engineers, and other acts like Sec N Sol and road managers.
We were supposed to perform two shows. One at seven and another at 10 and I was prepared for the worst. I didn't think the fans would show up in rain. But I was wrong.
For each show there was an overflow of crowd and Immature rose the occasion. I thought they were better than ever!
I opened the show with the DJs from the BEAT, the MQ3 came out and did their single, Sec N Sol did a turn and then there was a 5 minute intermission. Everyone was very excited about seeing Immature. And when they came out, they conquered the audience!
I was very proud of them because recently they've had a bad period. Their last record did not perform well and eveyone is giving them a negative jab.
But I've been around show business for more years than I'd like to admit, and I told the boys that they have to rise up and fight. They have the talent and ability to succeed. And they will do just that!
They're currantly working on a new album and touring with a fashion show designed by Karl Kani. It might be in your city. They are also up for two soundtracks of big movies. So don't count them out. There're here and they are going to be bigger than ever!
One reason for this is that their fans are behind them and there are thousands of you all over the country. In fact, one of their fans just presented each member with a pit bull puppy. They accepted these gifts with pleasure. And I can tell you one thing...with these boys rasing them, the Pit Bulls will grow up to be sweet and gentle just like Romeo, Batman, and LDB.
As for me, I'm still busy. I'll be going down to Vegas soon to appear with Montell Jordan. My daughter, Smooth, is still moving up the charts and was a big hit on VIBE. Chris, my son, is producing videos for various acts and life is a ball!
