Rockin' in the Free World
Pearl Jam rocked the sold out Sydney Entertainment Center last night,
which is an average size venue that holds about 10,000.
Sydney rock
concert crowds seem a little too easy to entertain,
compared to the
sometimes fickle Bay Area crowds,
as Eddie Vedder's simple antics
seemed to get cheers from the audience
that rivalled the volume of the
P.A. system.
However, all that noise helped to drive the band to new
heights in
energy level that I haven't seen in a long while.
Highlights for me were "Daughter" with an extended jam
at the end with
Eddie doing a Jim Morrison-esque beat poetry thing,
"Evenflow" with a
long guitar solo in the middle,
and one of my favorite covers to close
the night "Rockin' in the Free World".
A good way to end my trip!
This is my last message from Australia as I hop on a plane back to California tomorrow. See you all later.
