I AM THE MAGICIAN

I am the Magician,
the faker of fakers,
the bringer of false reality.
Cards seemingly jump from my hand
as I play tricks with your hearts
(diamonds, clubs and spades).
I have more secrets than a politician,
just to sparkle and amaze.
I hide my own emotions,
just to go on with the show,
yet it brings me happiness to put a smile on someone's face.
For I am the Magician, no one can take my place.
Although you may find someone better,
to perform a trick or two,
you'll never find someone like me,
who has been honest through and through.
For I am the Magician,
and my assistant is you.
I'll make you disappear,
and somehow bring you back again.
For I am the Magician,
and the eye is slower than the hand.
I'll make my own decisions
I'll make my own mistakes
but you are my assistant
and you are there to help me too.
I am ready to go out there,
to go at it alone.
I have enough experience,
to do it on my own.
Being independent is a new trick for me,
but sometimes we can't help it,
that's the way it's got to be.
Although I have the power to go at it alone,
I'd rather have you there beside me,
as I travel far from home
to a place of new performances,
to learn a few more tricks.
For you are my encouragement,
and you are my shade.
You've always assisted me,
through all of the mistakes I have made,
but we are individuals
and have our own mystical ways,
yet we still create magic together
that will last all our days.
I am the Magician,
