May Meetings

Meetings are held in the large upstairs room at the Heather Farm Garden Center, Walnut Creek, and are scheduled on the 3rd and 4th Wednesday of the month, from 7:30PM to 9:30PM.  Meetings start at 7:30PM with a brief business meeting, and end at 9:30PM.
Please be ready to meet at 7:30PM.

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008 - 7:30pm.  Basic Class Meeting.
                                            Lecture 7:30-8:00pm - Yoseue (group planting style).
                                            Workshop 8:00 - 9:30.
                                            Refreshments and help with cleanup and close: David Holmgren.

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008 - 7:30pm.  Intermediate Class Meeting.
                                            Lecture 7:30-8:00pm - Balance of trees in the bonsai pot.
                                            Workshop 8:00 - 9:30.
                                            Refreshments and help with cleanup and close: Marcia Cozens.

 Notes

Cherry Blossom Festival - Thank you to everyone who helped us make our participation in this event a success. Our display was admired by the show's many visitors.  A special thanks to those who allowed their trees to be a part of our display, those who took on tree transport duty, and all of you who came out to the show.

Watsonville Bonsai Club: 34th Annual Bonsai Show at the Watsonville Buddhist Temple, 423 Bridge St.  Show hours are 10AM-4PM.  Demonstration at 2PM by Katsumi Kinoshita from Monterey.  Raffle and plant sales. Bonsai Club of Santa Barbara: Annual Bonsai Exhibition at the Santa Barbara Botanic garden, 1212 Mission Canyon Road. Hours are Saturday 11AM-4PM and Sunday 10AM-4PM. Demonstrations at 1PM both days. Plant sale by the Club. Native plants suitable for bonsai in the Botanic Garden’s nursery. Bonsai books and other gifts in the Garden Shop. Bonsai Raffle.  Free Admission.  Plant sale.
