May Meetings:
Note: Change of May Intermediate Class Meeting Date to Wednesday May 25.
Club meetings are in the Rotary Room of the Heather Farms Garden Center,Walnut Creek, on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, from 7:30PM to 9:30PM. The Rotary Room is on the lower level of the Garden Center. A ramp leading to the lower level is to the left of the Main Building Entrance off the parking lot. We are able to provide vehicular access to the lower level for a few members who may be disabled or have very large trees to carry in to the meetings.
Meetings will start promptly at 7:30PM with a brief business meeting, and will end at 9:30PM. Please be ready to meet at 7:30PM.
Bring plant material appropriate to the class topic for the workshop. Working on the tree in the style discussed aids in understanding the lecture and the style.
Wednesday - May 11th - Basic Class Meeting. 7:30 - 8:00PM -Basic Class Lecture Topic: Yoseue (group planting style). 8:00 - 9:30PM Workshop, Trees in the Group Planting Style to work on. Refreshments: Carol Lynn Bassett.

Welcome to new members Sue Xiutong, Silvia Roemer, and Blanch Weston. If you have not had a chance to meet these new members, please take the time to introduce yourself and welcome them to the Diablo Bonsai Club. Blanch Weston is a former member who is returning to the Club.Bonsai Plant Sale - June 4th, Charlotte Wood School Parking Lot - A number of trees did not sell at the April Spring Show, these Club trees now being maintained by the donating members will be sold to Club members in the parking lot of the Charlotte Wood School, Saturday June 4th, 9:30 to 11:00AM. This is a good chance to add that special tree to your collection or to get trees to donate at next years Club Show.
The 2006 Club show will be held the last weekend of April at the Danville Community Center.
San Ramon Park JuniperThe Club will return to its project of revitalizing and reshaping the large in-ground Juniper at the San Ramon Park, a date is being arranged. A sign-up sheet will be available at the May meetings. We last worked on the tree in April last year.
Meeting Room Clean Up and Close We are now asking two members to assist with the clean up and closing of the meeting room. To the extent possible one of those members designated to assist will also have the responsibility of providing the refreshments. Some members will be excused because of personal limitations, otherwise all members will be expected to assist in turn.

May 7th and 8th, Sacramento - Sacramento Bonsai Club 59th Annual Bonsai Show at the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Blvd. Show hours are Saturday 12 Noon - 5PM, Sunday 10AM - 4PM. Demonstrations at 2PM both days by Boon Manakitivipart, raffles to follow.
Sunday, May 15th, San Mateo - San Mateo Bonsai Club Annual Satsuki Bonsai Show at the San Mateo Gardeners' Hall, 503 E. 5th Ave. (corner of Claremont and 5th Ave.) Show hours are 10AM - 4PM
May 21 and 22nd, Sacramento - Satsuki Aikokai of Sacramento Annual Show nd Sale at the Sacramento Garden and Arts Center, 3330 McKinley Blvd. Saturday 10AM - 5PM and Sunday 10AM - 4PM. Demonstrations both days at 1:30PM.
June 4th and 5th, Oakland - Bay Area Satsuki Aikokai 11th Annual Satsuki Bonsai Show at the Lakeside Park Garden Center, 666 Bellevue Ave. Show hours are 10AM - 5PM both days. Demonstrations using mature trees each day at 1:30PM.
June 4th and 5th, San Mateo - Sei Boku Bonsai Kai 22nd Annual show "The Flowers of Spring" at the San Mateo Garden Center, 605 Parkside Way. Show hours are 11AM to 4:30PM both days. Demonstrations 12noon-3PM both days by Steve Jang and Tim Kong on Saturday and Steve Iwaki and Mike Page on Sunday.
June 5, Seaside - Monterey Bonsai Club 38th Annual Exhibition at the Monterey Buddhist Temple in Seaside at 1150 Noche Buena. Show hours are 11AM to 4PM. Demonstration at 2PM by Katsumi Kinoshita.
