This recipe almost fills a large Crock Pot Slow Cooker. Medium spiciness. Adjust spices up or down as desired.
- 2 cans Hunts original spaghetti sauce
- 1 can Hunts Spicy Italian spaghetti sauce
- 1 large can tomato paste
- 1-2 lbs lean ground beef (depending on desired meatiness)
- 3 celery stalks
- 1 red pepper
- 1 green pepper
- about 20 mushrooms
- Cracked Pepper (big bits, but not pepper corns) (optional)
- Pepper
- Salt
- Chili Peppers (big bits)
- Chili Powder
- Onions and garlic as desired
- Brown the ground beef in a fry pan with a sprinkling of cracked pepper (1-2 tablespoons), salt and chili peppers (1-2 teaspoons).
- Chop celery, and red and green peppers, onions and garlic. Slice mushrooms.
- Dump everything into the Crock Pot, mix well, and add more ground pepper, salt, chili peppers and chili powder to taste.
- Slow-cook for one hour on High, then reduce cooker to Low and cook for 5-6 more hours.
Can divide into portions and freeze.
