- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 onions, sliced into rings
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- Saute onions in small amount of oil till transparent. Add hot water, soy sauce and sugar.
- Bring to a boil; lower heat and cook 10 minutes.
- Dissolve cornstarch in 1/2 cup cold water; stir into onions and continue stirring till thick.
- Keep on 'simmer'.
- Make 4 patties with the meat, salt and pepper.
- Broil patties and put into sauce.
Serve hot. Good with mashed potatoes or rice.
