Salisbury Steak with Onion Gravy
  1. Saute onions in small amount of oil till transparent. Add hot water, soy sauce and sugar.
  2. Bring to a boil; lower heat and cook 10 minutes.
  3. Dissolve cornstarch in 1/2 cup cold water; stir into onions and continue stirring till thick.
  4. Keep on 'simmer'.
  5. Make 4 patties with the meat, salt and pepper.
  6. Broil patties and put into sauce.

Serve hot. Good with mashed potatoes or rice.
