- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 slices dry white bread
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1/4 cup rice, uncooked
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups tomato juice
- Crumble bread and soak in milk. Add beaten egg and mix well.
- Add celery, rice, salt and uncooked ground beef. Mix well with fingers.
- Shape into golf-ball sized balls and place into a greased casserole dish.
- Pour tomato juice over balls.
- Bake at 350° for 1 1/2 hours.
