- 4-5 apples, cored, pared 'halfway' down
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- raisins or dates (optional)
- 1 Tbsp butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup water
- Stand apples up in crockpot.
- Mix together sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg (and raisin or dates, if desired). Sprinkle over apples.
- Put a dot of butter on each apple, and put water in bottom. Cover and cook on LOW for several hours.
- To serve, put a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top of warm apples.
