- 1 1/2 cup sugar, divided
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Glaze:
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 - 2 tsp milk
- Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
- Combine flour, baking soda, salt, and remaining sugar. Set aside.
- Combine buttermilk, eggs and oil. Stir in flour mixture until just combined.
- Grease the bottom only of a 9X5x3" loaf pan. Pour half the batter into pan. Sprinkle with half the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Carefully spread the remaining batter and sprinkle top with remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Swirl knife through batter.
- Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool.
- Combine glaze mixture. Place bread on a sheet of waxed paper and drizzle drizzle glaze over bread.
Makes 1 loaf.
