You can buy those 2-oz. breadsticks at most any grocery... usually come in packs of 8 to 12. The brand I like is "Bread duJour - original breadsticks". I'm sure any would do. Anyway, what you do is put them on a baking sheet (sides not touching), and bake in preheated 400° oven for 8 minutes.
Remove from oven, and immediately brush on a little of the following mixture:
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) real butter, melted
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
Serve immediately, or (important): Cover loosely with foil and keep in a 200° oven or warming basket till serving time. If you re-warm them in the microwave, it loses a LOT! Best to re-warm them (any leftover) in a toaster oven or regular oven.
HINT: These are also reeeeally good using a heated marinara sauce as a dip. If you try them, let me know what you think?!
