- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Mix flour with baking soda and salt.
- In large bowl, beat butter and sugars until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla and beat well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients.
- Spread batter in lightly sprayed or greased prepared baking pan. Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.
- Cool, then cut into squares.
Var: Peanut butter or Butterscotch Blondies - Sprinkle 1/2 cup of chips of either flavor on top after baking for 5 minutes. Swirl melted chips, and continue baking for 15-20 minutes.
Var: White Chocolate Blondies - Add white chocolate chips to batter before baking.
