- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 3 cups tomato or V8 juice
- 7 cups water
- 1 (16 oz) can green beans
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 tsp garlic powder or 2 cloves crushed
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 cup pearl barley
- 1 large potato, cut into small cubes
- Brown burger, add everything.
- Reduce heat to simmer (45-60 minutes), or until veggies* and barley are done.
*Veggies can be changed around to suit your tastes.
I usually brown the ground beef and the put all ingredients into the crock-pot and cook on low all day.
