Mama Gantt's Banana Pudding
  1. Mix sugar and flour in a cooking pot. Add half the milk.
  2. Beat yolks and add, stirring well.
  3. Add rest of milk and butter.
  4. Cook over low heat, stirring often, until thickened.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Pour over two layers each of bananas and vanilla wafers.
  7. Make meringue from whites and a little sugar. Put over pudding.
  8. Brown in 350° oven about 5 minutes. Refrigerate.

Serves 6-8.
