- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 Tbsp flour, heaping
- 2 cups milk
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp butter
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 2 cups vanilla wafers
- Mix sugar and flour in a cooking pot. Add half the milk.
- Beat yolks and add, stirring well.
- Add rest of milk and butter.
- Cook over low heat, stirring often, until thickened.
- Add vanilla.
- Pour over two layers each of bananas and vanilla wafers.
- Make meringue from whites and a little sugar. Put over pudding.
- Brown in 350° oven about 5 minutes. Refrigerate.
