My Mother's Fruit Cake

This is a "for real" fruit cake recipe, treasured by me since the recipe I have is written in my Mom's hand.

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. Stir in nuts and fruit.
  3. Add 4 beaten eggs.
  4. Pour batter into desired baking tins and bake 1 3/4 hours at 350°.

Makes 6 pounds. May be baked in November. Pack in cheesecloth soaked in red wine. Wrap in foil and place in air-tight containers.
