- 3 cups low-fat milk
- 1 cup cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla or scrapings from a vanilla bean (if not using fruit)
- 1/2 cup fruit
- Boil milk and cream together, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla.
- Cool in the freezer and then add to ice cream maker. When partly frozen add 1/2 cup fruit to the mixture.
For a heartier ice cream, use 2 cups whole milk and 2 cups cream.
