- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 3/4 cup butter (no substitutes)
- 1 1/2 tsp orange peel, finely-shredded
- 3/4 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- Granulated sugar
- Pre-heat oven to 350°.
- Stir together flour and powdered sugar.
- Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs and begins to cling together. Stir in chocolate pieces and orange peel.
- Form into a ball and knead until smooth.
- Shape into 1 1/4" balls. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Using the bottom of a glass, dip into the granulated sugar and flatten each ball to 1/2" thickness.
- Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until the bottoms just start to brown.
- Cool on the sheet for 1 minute.
- Remove cookies and cool on a wire rack.
