- 2 cups bread flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp shortening
- 3/4 to 1 cup milk
- Mix dry ingredients. Work in shortening with fingers or pastry mixer.
- Add milk gradually, mixing with a knife to make a soft dough.
- Knead gently on a floured board for a few minutes and roll gently to 1/4 inch. Cut with cookie cutter and place on a greased cookie sheet. Pierce with a fork.
- Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 12 to 15 biscuits.
