It is always so very difficult to lose someone close to us,
and I have come to know Bob as a kind, generous, free spirit.
But, most of all, I have come to know Bob as a dear friend.

I shall miss him. - - - Deni

Mountie Bob (Kathy BC)

I remember:
1. Bob telling Niki to get back to her books
2. His marvelous recipes
3. His kidney transplant
4. His ability to make me smile

(Mick159)

My personal memories of Bob include that he didn't forget my interest in the dog sled race he was so excited about. He went so far as to send me a wonderful book, cap with the insignia, and some other things. I was so tickled when it arrived. The cap hangs on my old clock and I see it everyday to remind me of Bob.
He and Darlene were going to try to get down here to golf with me. I looked forward to the day. It will never come now.

(Aunt Bea)

I don't know where to begin...
He was always there for me when I had questions about anything. Sent maps of his area for my freinds that were going his way on vacation. Emailed me regarding my recipes and Always called at the most odd times! Like while I was dying my hair, or while I was napping... never when I was "ready" for a call.
When we talked it was so obvious that he loved each day he had. He adored Darlene, his son and his wife and that little granddaughter was the lite of his life. He was really happy that the new baby will be a boy.
The last time I talked to Bob he said he was NOT going to sit home and wait to die, He was going to enjoy whatever time he had left .... He did.
Goodbye my dear friend....

(Valene)

Groaners, picture of him with his granddaughter, boys night out, ragging on Harry, his big heart (tears). We will miss you, our good friend Bob.

(Debi Webi)

I will always remember his groaners and him helping me find an address in BC.
We will miss you Bob.

(Woogie38)

I will miss his groaners, now more than ever. I am grateful for his words of sympathy at the death of my husband.
He was funny, kind and a friend to us all.
Say hello to Al, I know you two will like each other.

(Deni Ont Can)

Golf CourseI shall miss his adventures in the Yukon and in Prince Edward Island when Bob went a-travlin'.

(Handmaiden)

I have many fond memories of Bob and always enjoyed his quick wit and did I ever love his groaners!! I know all of us will miss him greatly.!! Another Angel looking out for us.!

(Shortcake)

My personal memories of Bob were him picking with me over the Marbles game and his groaners.

(Niki BC)

He offered me so much support during my studies and encouraged me to follow my heart.
Most recently, when I showed interest in a recipe of his that called for gorgonzola cheese he offered to Express Mail some to me... this makes me giggle... can you imagine the smell of that envelope? Maybe that's what I loved so much about Bob.... he always had something smart, witty, and goofy to say.

(Carole OR)

I remember his great sense of humor and caring for people. After my FIL had a heart attack a month or so ago, Bob took the time to send me an email offering to explain the surgery my FIL would have to go through and what to expect afterwards. I was extremely touched that he did that. We also talked quite a bit about my father's diabetes. He spent a fair amount of time trying to keep me on track with my low blood sugar problems as well, really getting on me if I ate the wrong things.
He will be greatly missed.

Notice(Peg NE)

I loved to read his posts and appreciated his loving concern for everyone. I'm only sorry that I didn't know him better.

(Alycyn)

I am reading all these wonderful posts as tears are streaming down my face. I will always remember the pictures of him and his granddaughter and how you could just "feel" how happy he was when he "talked" about her.And of course the groaners.

(Marti)

Bob could tell the worst groaners and I loved them!! The pic of him with his grandaughter said it all. That man had such a big heart and he'll be missed terribly.

(Grammie Jan)

I'll miss so many things about Bob, I always smiled when I went to the recipe forum, I just knew he had to love to cook! He once e-mailed me about a recipe I had over there & we laughed together. Just the other week he e-mailed me asking about our Lobster season!!
What a wonderful Man is was, and a true friend! Like Mary says another Angel to watch over us!!

(di46)

I *always* read his groaners and loved them. I usually responded to his posts too. He was just a great guy who loved his family. Such a big part of the CC. I'm gonna miss him so much.

(Snow White)

The picture of him in his Mountie uniform and his beloved granddaughter and him together. Just recently when Aunt Bee had her Lucy Moment contest he "Knew" who we all were just by our writing style.
My heart is so heavy now and has been since reading about his passing.

Poem(Linda FL)

When I posted who wanted to be on my "joke list" Bob e-mailed me back and said I could send the raunchiest of jokes to him which of course I did. He in turn sent me some of the funniest I had every heard and one even came with an apology in the subject line- he was a great guy and I will surely miss him not so much for his jokes or his groaners but for the person that he was and I regret that I never called him to hear his voice......

(jeskids)

My first memories of Bob are from when my son Shaun was about to turn 5 and was going to have a big party at McDonalds. Bob kept e-mailing Shaun and Shaun would e-mail him back. Shaun invited Bob to his birthday party and Bob said that if he weren't so far away he would definately have been there. I thought it was great how he took the time to make Shaun's day with the e-mails!
Also, I loved his groaners, recipes and his back and forth chats with Harry!

(Elle 53)

When my mom had her heart attack last January I didn't expect to hear from anyone but I got an email from Bob telling me just what to expect from the procedure that mom had. He had the same procedure but being a man it was somewhat different. Needless to say he made me laugh. He went to great lengths to put me at ease then but now I am saddened by his passing. Rest in peace my dear friend. I just wish I could have spoken to him as well. I will also miss his back and forth chats with Harry.

(Mimi in FL)

I remember him in just the kindest way. Short posts, always cute & funny. I was amazed when he sent so many stamps, etc. when I said my GS might be interested in collecting. I sent him a gift in return, but it looks like it may have arrived just one day too late. :-(
I have nothing but good & sweet memories of Bob. I was so impressed with his love & respect for his wife when he posted, "I promised Darlene I would never embarrass her. And I never will."
He liked what he called his Wednesday night male bonding, & when he wasn't around this week, I was going to post - hey Bob - did you go to male bonding & forget to come back? I know he would have enjoyed it & would have had a snappy answer for me.

(MistyLou)

I will sorely miss Bob and all the things associated with him.

Bob and Darlene(Mary Mary)

I'll always remember Bob for his thoughtfulness, kindness and funny sense of humor, he was always trying to help someone out, even me. I had posted I had a problem after eating red sauces. He posted and gave me a few different ideas to use in it's place.
And of course I just loved his groaners. Grrrroooaaan
Bob you will be sadly missed.

(Dust Bunny)

Well I remember what a hard time he gave me about buying a Ford vehicle. He loved teasing me about that and I thought that was funny.
His Groaners were cute. And I enjoyed hearing him brag of his family. I remember when he told us of his son's dog sled racing. He was so proud of that.

(liz ga)

It melted my heart when I first saw the pic of him with his grandchild..That will be forever ingrained in my mind and I guess that's why I'm so upset is because that little precious thing will never get to know how really wonderful Bob could be!!
I'll never look at a groaner the same way again.

(Allie Girl)

I find answering this post so hard as my heart is aching for Bob's dear family. Our Bob was the kindest gentlest man who touched so many of us with his sense of humour and gentle soul. How he loved his family and that sweet little granddaughter of his was the light of his life. I may not have ever met this wonderful man in person but he had and alway will have a special place in my heart for being a dear friend to one and all.... Will miss you a lot dear friend....

(Gari AnnTX)

His groaners! I just loved them! And his 'boys night out' stories... what a hoot. What a dear man!

(SASSIE)

Pictures of Bob & his granddaughter. There was so much love in his words & such a proud granddad. He sure will be missed.

Bob and Aby(Sammi99)

I have been putting off posting to this, not because I have nothing to say, but because I have too much to say.
Ahhhhh the groaners!! I'd be reading the 'Groaners' (and groaning), then I'd have to tell them to DH one at a time and he'd try to figure them out. Sometimes he got one right! Then he would groan too Pretty soon he was asking me every day "Hey does Bob have any more groaners"? I told Bob that he had better keep em comin' cuz that was how I spent my Quality time with DH
King of the one-liners! Bob could make me laugh with only a few perfectly chosen words. I could always see him sitting there with an innocent look on his face..... like... what? who me?.... as he was typing the most hilarious comeback line!
I loved it when he picked on me.
A kind, caring, respected and respectful, loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. And such a special friend to all of us that had gotten the chance to know him, if only in the cyber world (which seems all the more real now, cuz otherwise it wouldn't hurt so bad). We are all very lucky indeed (((Bob)))
A few weeks ago we had a discussion about baseball and I just have to say....
Go Cubs!................ naw, make that GO BLUEJAYS!!!!! Love you Bob

(AunteyP)

I'm going to miss my dance partner here on the CC. I'm going to miss that guy and his jokes. I loved his sense of humor and his love of his family. Hugs my sweet friend.

Next time you hear thunder it may be God groaning.

Ya think? - - - Harry in Connecticut
