Questions & Answers
1. How did you set your tuition fee?
The school tuition primarily reflects the cost of the teachers' salaries
and of maintaining the school facilities. Education is an investment
in your child's future that pays great dividends to you as a parent for
it determines a great deal about the quality of his or her future.
There is no better investment than quality education for the next generation.
2. Why should I choose your school over
bigger or more established schools in India?
We stress child-centered, interactive learning in a small class setting
where the teacher-student relationship is the key to stimulation and enthusiasm
for learning in your child. We have state-of-art computers as well as an
emphasis on the Arts and creativity, all in a family atmosphere.
3. What is the size of your campus?
We are situated on 1.2 acres in the fresh air of suburban Bangalore.
We use some of the finest athletic coaches and facilities in India (e.g.
in swimming and tennis) in off-campus settings.
With Internet access, the size of the school facilities becomes less important
than access to research material through computer data bases and e-mail
links.
4.
How is your school meeting the changing expectations for learning in the
Information Age?
There is a revolution in education methods in all countries today.
Students and parents want personal meaning, active involvement, intellectual
challenge and new methods for learning from schools. At the Canadian
school of India, the International School, we are meeting this need for
change by stressing thinking and problem solving, independent research,
teamwork and co-operation, communication and leadership as part of a strong
academic program. This prepares students not only for university
but for a joyful and successful life.
5. Will you be strict and demanding with
children?
Our school philosophy asks the students to be increasingly responsible
for their own learning as they progress from kindergarten to their university
preparatory year. This is summed up in our "3R's": Respect
for Self, Respect for Others, and Responsibility for all our actions.
We stress the "honour system" with students and have frequent communication
with parents on issues of concern.
As a private school with international standards of learning and teaching,
we stress principles of caring, efficiency, networking and responsiveness
to our clients in a connected global community.
