Everybody was sitting around the table talking, and catching up with old times. Karen excused herself and sat by the fire. Everybody knew she missed Nick. They felt so bad because they knew how close we were.
"I hope she'll be ok." Jane said
"Me too." Mary sighed. Then there was a knock on the door. Karen had already went outside to the backyard and was sitting on the porch-swing. Angel ran to the door and when she opened it she started to scream.
"Ahhhhh! Nick! Your home!" Angel screamed and hugged him tight
"Woah angel, I missed you too." And hugged her. He gave everyone a hug but something was missing.
"Where's Karen?" He asked and looked at them all.
"She is in the back, she was really upset that you couldn't come. Maybe you could cheer her up." Jane smiled and looked at the back. Nick walked outside and saw Karen on the swing looking out at the sky.
"Hey, why aren't you inside with everyone, Christmas is for people to be together, not stay outside and look at the sky." Nick said and looked at her. Karen looked at him and blinked her eyes. It was him!
"Oh my god, Nick!" Karen screamed and ran to him. He opened up his arms and hugged her so tight. He swung her around laughing. Finally he put her down.
"I can't believe you're here." Karen said
"Well, I couldn't miss Christmas." He whispered. Karen looked at him, "Come on, let's go inside." She said and took his hand. They walked inside and sat down at the table and ate dinner.
