looses his Engine

While engine 4452 from the CDF Murphy Station in California was assigned to a wildland fire east of the Sierra Mountains they became trapped by high winds. The crew was very experienced, the regular Captain John Robbins was off duty and the crew was lead by a relief Captain. After being trap by flames the desision was made to take shelter near a small pond and use their wildland "fire shelters". All members of the crew servived with non life threatning burns.

Sense this incident John and his crew have been assigned a new engine and have spent most of October in Southern California fighting the major fires that continue to burn
