Saphire is the younger brother of Prince Diamond. He looks somewhat like Tuxedo Mask, except that his hairstyle is slightly different and he has a Black Moon insignia on his forehead. Saphire looks up to and loves his brother very much. Actually, he sort of idolises Diamond, and has always been doubtful of Wise Man.
Saphire discovered that Wise Man had just using the Black Moon Clan for his own purposes all along. He tried to destroy Wise Man's crystal key card but is caught and injured by Wise Man. He sought refuge in Tokyo, with the Ayakashi sisters, where Prisma nursed him.
Saphire's great love for Diamond prompted him to go off and warn his brother despite his weakened condition and Prisma's protests. He promised Prisma he would return. Saphire was mercilessly blasted to death by Wise Man in front of Diamond and Sailor Moon before he could say anything.
