HISTORY

After the original Superman's death at the hands of the Anti-Monitor, what was believed to be his body was taken to the Cadmus Project where director Paul Westfield unsuccessfully tried to clone Superman. However, whereas the Cadmus scientists had not been able to clone Superman's DNA, other experiments based on Superman's aura combined with the DNA of Paul Westfield, director of Cadmus at the time, were successful and resulted in the clone once known as Superboy, now known as Superman.

When first released from Cadmus, Superboy wanted to be called SuperMAN, but three others had appeared at the same time to make that claim. When one of them, the Cyborg, turned out to be a traitor, Superboy was part of the team that defeated him, and Supergirl convinced him to call himself Superboy. She also adopted him as an honourary cousin and gave him the name, Kon-El.

Superboy moved to Hawaii, and brought his public relations manager, Rex Leech, his tough-as-nails daughter, Roxy, and Dubbilex along for the ride. Not long after arriving in Hawaii, Superboy began a relationship with Tana Moon, the TV reporter who had covered his adventures in Metropolis, which lasted only a few months.

During the establishing years of his career, “The Kid” (as he was often called) earned the trust of heroes throughout the universe and timestream! He was the leading force of good in an intergalactic/interdimensional rave, and was such an influence that his return inspired the ravers to victory against some evil Khunds, and the Earth clique even named themselves Superboy and the Ravers! He was also an honorary member of the 30th century's Legion of Super-Heroes, was invited to join the Teen Titans, and later joined a junior version of the Justice League called Young Justice. Unfortunately, he also found out that his apparent age of 16 was fixed and would never increase.

Due to his mis-managed public appearances, and lack of respect to the old Hawaiian legends, Superboy found his popularity in Hawaii seriously low. He became a field agent for the newly restructured Cadmus outside of Metropolis. When Cadmus was shut down, he became more closely involved in Young Justice. During this time, Batman discovered a way to reset his aging process so he would not continue to seem a youth while others grew up around him. Not long after, Tana Moon was killed and Kon was devestated by this news. He had loved her deeply but always thought there’d be time for that later. A hard lesson for the cocky, brash young hero. Superboy had several relationships over the next few years, including one with Supervixen, but none were that solid.

In 2003, Superboy officially took the name Superman, at an apparent age of 19. When Superwoman founded New Krypton in 2008, Superman assisted her but did not stay, feeling the problems of the world won’t be solved by hiding away from them.

Kon was reunited and began spending time with his old friend, Roxy Leech, in 2013. They were inseparable, became an item and finally married in 2014, at a wedding that was attended by many heroes from various teams, including a few of Kon’s ex-girlfriends.

Superman was a part of the JLA formed by Batman in 2016 until its dissolution in 2019. Now, in 2020, he has reformed the League himself with the intent to return it to its former glory. With the help of his wife and others, he hopes to make this dream a reality.

Superman is no longer the youthful exuberant hero he once was. Definitely not “The Kid” anymore, he is now a tough-as-nails, grizzled veteran who has seen many a battle and many a weird phenomenon, and shows no fear in the face of the most terrible foes. He expects much from his team, but also backs them all the way. He expects to earn the respect of his team not just have it given blindly.

POWERS AND WEAPONS

Superman has the power of tactile telekinesis, a power that can simulate most Kryptonian powers.

Tactile telekinesis makes him capable of doing a wide variety of things. It gives him the equivalent of super strength, practical invulnerability, and the ability to fly. He can also extend his telekinetic field through any object he touches to manipulate or destroy it. Although his tactile-telekinesis would rate him among the strongest heroes on Earth, it can´t really be counted as true super-strength.

Tactile telekinesis seems to affect his metabolism as well. Superman has a super-healing factor, and can make his reflexes lightning fast, though this is not, by definition, super-speed.

After years of waiting for his other duplicated Kryptonian powers to develop, Superman finally figured out how to make his X-Ray Vision and Heat Vision work. He can also now hear in frequencies well beyond human hearing range though he cannot detect sounds from great distances as Kryptonians can (yet?).

WEAKNESSES

Superman is affected by Kryptonite and magic due to the cloning process which tried to make him as Kryptonian as possible. When unconscious, Superman's telekinetic field drops, and he can get hurt like any normal human.
