History:

Jon is the second child, and first son, born to Nightwing and Jesse Quick. There was never any question that Jon's name would be anything other than 'Jonathan', as he's named for both his paternal and maternal grandfathers.

Since Jon did not inherit full superspeed from his mother, he was not the handful to raise that his sister Haley was. However, Jon also felt he was growing up in the shadow of his sister, who always seemed so perfect. Jon has the standard Grayson work ethic and so, wanting to live up to the heroic standards of his family, he works very hard at training in martial arts and detective skills, and his studies at the Knight Academy. Because of this focus and lack of superspeed, Jon did grow up closer to the non-powered, Bat-side of his family. It seemed a given that he would eventually take on the mantle of first Robin (his Batman was Ted Kord in the later days of his career) and then of course, Nightwing since his father, the original Nightwing, had become Police Commissioner of Gotham City.

Jon is close with his family, as the Graysons are a tight-knit group. His is closest to his brother Freddy, and his younger sister Ana.

Jon left the Young Justice program early, in order to join the Titans. He graduated from the Knight Academy and then worked with the Titans full time, deciding against college, much to his mother's chagrin. The Titans though, a team torn by a lot of internal strife, never really gelled and was eventually decimated by Superboy Prime during his rampage on Earth. Jon himself nearly died, his back broken and hand utterly crushed by Prime. Jon's back was healed and he was given a new, cybernetic hand to replace the one he'd lost, but the road back was still a hard one with lots of physiotherapy and hard work. During this time, Jon was quite disheartened, but it did not keep him down. In fact, Jon used this time to bond with his family and find a new love interest.

Jon suffered more injury during the Kryptonian invasion when a Kryptonian, searching for Jesse 2.0 and her children, destroyed most of the Grayson's home, gravely injuring many of the family.

At a bit of a crossroads in his life right now, Jon is once again working at bringing together another group of Titans.

Powers and skills:

Jon has a slight connection to the Speedforce. It gives him heightened reflexes and he heals faster than a normal person. He also has some natural superstrength and has great strength in his cybernetic hand. Strangely though, he is the only Grayson with a connection to the Speedforce who does NOT have to say the formula to activate his powers.

Out of all the Grayson children, Jon is the best detective and by far the best martial artist. He is also very adept at fighting speedsters.

Personality:

On a personal level, Jon is quite charming and, like his father, ridiculously good looking. He uses both those things to his advantage quite frequently. But that surface charm disguises that he is actually rather aloof. There are not many (other than his family) that he is close with and he tends to keep people (including his string of boyfriends) at arm's length. He can also be quite cold, calculating and ruthless.

He is currently making an attempt to stay in a relationship with Chauncey St. Croix (Dodo), rather than just ending a relationship like he usually does when it becomes too much work.
